At Included Health, our mission is to raise the standard of healthcare for everyone. The healthcare system is confusing, complex, fragmented, and the decisions are high-stakes. On the Guide team, it’s our job to take the work out of getting our members to the right care. We are looking for a Product Manager who can help solve some of the biggest pain points in the healthcare experience – from how patients figure out what care might cost, to understanding how their health insurance works, to ensuring they are able to afford their medications. This is a role that will focus on some of the most common and highest-friction experiences in healthcare, and has an opportunity to impact the lives of our millions of members.

In this role, you’ll be solving challenging problems such as:

- How do we get members on the right medication at the right price? How do we ensure that affordability isn’t a barrier to adherence? How do we help them get help when they experience side effects or problems with their medications?

- How do we make it easy for members to understand how health insurance plans work and what they cover?

- How do we help members understand the cost of care? How do we give them a path forward if the cost is too high for them?

- How do we help members understand their healthcare bills? How do we provide advocacy for them when they’re billed incorrectly?

You’ll be solving these problems through both our self-serve digital experience and via human-powered services you’ll support in partnership with our care team. Within Included Health, solving these problems successfully means meaningfully increasing healthcare access and affordability for millions of members, while also scaling our business to support many millions more.

As a Senior Product Manager, you will:

  • Define the product vision, strategy, roadmap, and prioritization for both existing and yet-to-be-developed products and features.
  • Work closely with design, engineering, data science, clinicians, and other cross-functional partners to prioritize features and ship products across the full product lifecycle from idea, research, design, specification, metrics definition, development, launch and beyond.
  • Understand and analyze user/customer needs deeply using both quantitative and qualitative tactics.
  • Partner with go-to-market teams to design and prioritize solutions that simultaneously address member problems, increase healthcare access, and reduce costs for members and customers.
  • Create and implement measures to help quantify and optimize the impact on members and customers. Use these measures to help the team prioritize their work.
  • Develop expertise in how the healthcare system works and become an authority both internally and to customers for how to tackle key problems members face.
  • Collaborate with other product managers to deliver cohesive, robust experiences.
  • Transform the way that millions of people experience healthcare

You might be a good fit if…

  • You have 5+ years of experience as a Product Manager
  • You’re comfortable using a combination of data, user research, and market research to deeply understand problems and generate insights that point towards differentiated solutions
  • You have successfully pitched a new product or business to your company, resulting in increased revenue / scale / impact
  • You know how to get the most creative thinking out of yourself and others in order to push the needle of what is possible
  • You have strong product sense – you know what makes products great and why those things work
  • You love understanding complex systems (such as healthcare!) and aren’t afraid of going deep to build expertise
  • You make it a habit to define success for your products quantitatively, and using data-driven experimentation in order to iterate your way towards those success criteria.
  • You’re equally comfortable sketching out design ideas to illustrate an idea, writing SQL queries in order to understand your product better, and putting together a business case for a CEO.
  • You have deep empathy for users, and keep the patient and their needs at the center of the product.
  • You possess excellent written, verbal communication, and presentation skills.
  • You have previous experience building products for consumers (healthcare experience is not required!)
  • You believe that the way that people receive healthcare can and should be better.

Physical and Cognitive Requirements:

  • Prompt and regular attendance at assigned work location
  • Ability to remain seated in a stationary position for prolonged periods
  • Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate keyboard, computer and other office-related equipment
  • No heavy lifting is expected, though occasional exertion of about 20 lbs. of force (e.g., lifting a computer / laptop) may be required
  • Ability to interact with leadership, employees, and members in an appropriate manner

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
