We're looking for exceptional talent to help us achieve our mission of making financial advice better, more affordable, and accessible to all. If you're passionate about challenging the status quo and want to do the most important work of your life, we'd love to meet you!

But first, our values

Kindness - Kindness doesn’t just equal niceness. We listen to understand. We embrace, and encourage healthy debate and diverse perspectives. We approach conflict openly, honestly, and respectfully.
Brilliance - Humility is the skill we’re most proud of and possessing a growth mindset is always top of mind. We take ownership in everything we touch; regularly using our unique superpowers to reach a common goal as a team. We succeed and fail as one.
Grit - When challenges arise, we stay laser focused on achieving our mission and finding a way forward, even when it’s hard. We are nimble and maintain a sense of urgency, swiftly adapting to change and overcoming obstacles.

The opportunity

Altruist is transforming how financial advisors deliver wealth management. We’re building a new generation of credit and liquidity tools that empower advisors to offer flexible, tax-efficient access to capital for their clients. We’re looking for a Senior Product Manager to lead strategy and execution across our Credit & Lending platform. You’ll define the roadmap for liquidity products like margin, securities-backed lines of credit (SBLOC), and fully paid securities lending (FPL), driving innovation at the intersection of finance, regulation, and technology. This is a high-visibility, high-impact role. You’ll work closely with leadership across Product, Engineering, Compliance, and Operations to shape a product that will redefine how advisors think about access to credit — and ultimately expand what’s possible for their clients.

What you'll do

  • Own the product strategy and roadmap for Altruist’s Credit & Lending ecosystem.
  • Lead the discovery and launch of new liquidity products, starting with Margin, while building scalable systems for future innovation.
  • Define success metrics and key outcomes that align with Altruist’s broader mission to simplify wealth management.
  • Partner across Compliance, Finance, and Operations to build products that are as sound as they are customer-centric.
  • Champion speed with quality, balancing iterative MVP releases with the rigor needed for regulated financial products.
  • Build a data-driven, customer-obsessed culture, using insights from analytics, user research, and advisor feedback to inform every decision.

Who you are

  • Experienced: 5+ years in product management with a track record of owning complex, high-visibility products — ideally in fintech, credit, or regulated environments.
  • Strategic: You see the system — connecting product vision to company strategy, financial outcomes, and user behavior.
  • Execution-focused: You move quickly, make smart tradeoffs, and deliver impact without compromising quality or compliance.
  • Influential: You lead through context and collaboration, not control. You can inspire engineers, designers, and executives alike.
  • Data-savvy: You use data and insight to challenge assumptions, validate direction, and measure success.
  • Resilient and grounded: You operate with confidence, humility, and a learning mindset — even in ambiguity.

Bonus points

  • Experience building or scaling credit, margin, or lending products within fintech or financial institutions.
  • Familiarity with regulatory frameworks such as Reg T or FINRA Rule 4210.
  • A history of navigating complex regulatory or operational challenges with creativity and speed.
  • Hands-on experience with liquidity risk management or financial operations tooling.

Why you'll love working here

At Altruist, we’re on a mission to make financial advice better, more accessible, and more affordable for everyone. You’ll join a team that values impact over ego, speed over perfection, and collaboration over silos. As a Senior PM, you’ll have both the autonomy to lead major initiatives and the support of a team deeply committed to building something transformative.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
