Why Weave Exists

At Weave, our mission is to evolve how therapeutic knowledge is captured, transformed, and communicated throughout drug development. We do this by equipping human experts with AI instruments to enable drugs to be brought to patients as rapidly, safely, and inexpensively as possible.

The Weave Platform streamlines regulatory workflows from start to finish by intelligently, creatively, and effectively infusing every step with AI. Together with our customers, Weave is designing and building the AI workbench for the entire therapeutic lifecycle.

The Role & Your Mission

We are seeking a Senior Product Designer to join a lean, high-impact design team reporting to the Design Director. You will be working across the product portfolio - building an AI-first platform for managing the drug development regulatory lifecycle. We aim to build a product that is as delightful, distinctive, and intuitive as it is powerful, and we are looking for a designer who is adept at untangling complex workflows, understanding multi-stakeholder product ecosystems, and bringing a system design lens to the design craft.

What You'll Own

Product Area Leadership
You’ll own the end-to-end design for a dedicated product area—from discovery through launch and iteration. You’ll deeply understand user workflows, define clear experience principles, and deliver thoughtful solutions that balance user needs with business impact. You’ll proactively shape direction, not just execute against requirements.

Cross-Functional Collaboration
You’ll be a core member of your squad, contributing to strategy, roadmap discussions, and decision-making. You’ll communicate clearly, align stakeholders, and ensure design is integrated seamlessly into product and engineering processes. Your work will help the team move faster and make better decisions.

User Research & Insight
You’ll go deep on our users—their goals, motivations, constraints, and pain points. You’ll lead and synthesize qualitative research, usability testing, and behavioral insights, translating findings into clear, actionable direction for your team. You’ll ensure we are consistently building the right solutions for real user needs.

UX Architecture & Interaction Design
You’ll define user journeys, information architecture, and interaction models across complex workflows. You’ll simplify ambiguity, reduce friction, and ensure experiences are intuitive, efficient, and scalable as the product evolves.

High-Quality Product Craft
You’ll deliver polished, production-ready interfaces with strong attention to layout, typography, hierarchy, and detail. You’ll maintain a high bar for visual and interaction quality while ensuring consistency across your product area.

Design System Evolution
Contribute to the evolution of the design system to ensure speed, consistency, and scalability. You’ll identify gaps, propose improvements, and contribute new patterns and scalable interaction models as the product grows, ensuring the system remains a strategic asset that supports both velocity and craft.

AI-Powered Design & Product Innovation
You’ll integrate AI into both your workflow and the product experience itself. You’ll leverage AI-powered design and research tools to accelerate exploration, synthesis, and iteration while maintaining a high bar for usability and craft. You’ll design AI-native experiences that account for probabilistic outputs, feedback loops, trust, transparency, and human oversight.

What You’ll Bring

Full Stack Design Expertise
You bring 7+ years of experience in product design, ideally within B2B SaaS environments. You’re comfortable owning the full lifecycle—from discovery and research through execution and post-launch iteration—and can operate independently within a fast-moving team.

Strong Product & Systems Thinking
You connect user needs to measurable business outcomes and think holistically across workflows and platforms. You understand how scalable systems enable teams to move faster without sacrificing quality.

Design System Experience
You have experience contributing to or owning a design system in a production environment. You understand component-based design, governance, and close collaboration with engineering to ensure consistency and scalability.

AI Maturity
You have hands-on experience working with modern AI-powered tools and understand how to integrate them effectively into the design workflow. You’re comfortable designing for AI-driven features and navigating ambiguity, model variability, and edge cases.

B2B & Complex Workflow Experience
You’ve designed data-rich, workflow-heavy products, ideally in technical, scientific, or regulated industries. Experience in life sciences, biotech, or related fields is a strong plus.

Craft, Curiosity & Ownership
Your portfolio demonstrates strong visual craft and attention to detail. You’re an inquisitive empath who cares deeply about user experience and continuously seeks better solutions. You move work forward proactively, make thoughtful tradeoffs, and bring your team along through clarity, strong communication, and leadership.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
