Company Overview: FlyFlat is a premium travel platform revolutionizing the way founders, investors, and executives’ book international business and first-class flights. By combining proprietary booking methods with a 24/7 white-glove concierge service, FlyFlat delivers 30–80% off retail pricing, making premium travel more accessible and frictionless.

With rapid growth from a team of 12 to 78 in just over a year and a recent oversubscribed round led by Bessemer Venture Partners, FlyFlat is scaling quickly. As we expand across B2C, B2B2C, and B2B segments, design has become a central pillar of our product and client experience

Introduction: As a Senior Product Designer, you will play a critical role in shaping the FlyFlat product experience across both client-facing and internal tools. This is a highly hands-on role where you will own the design process end-to-end, from strategic exploration and user research to detailed interaction design and polished UI. You will work directly with FlyFlat’s leadership, collaborating across Product, Growth, Sales, Operations, and Concierge teams.

This role is ideal for a designer who is energized by fast-moving startup environments, excited to challenge assumptions, and eager to bring creative, thoughtful solutions that elevate not only our visual design but also our product thinking and user experience.

Responsibilities:

End-to-End Product Design

  • Lead design across FlyFlat’s booking platform and internal tools, owning the full design lifecycle from discovery to polished UI.
  • Conduct user research and testing to inform product direction and iterate on solutions.
  • Translate complex systems into intuitive, user-centered experiences.
  • Develop and maintain a coherent design system and visual identity across all touchpoints.

Cross -Functional Collaboration

  • Work directly with the Head of Product, Head of Growth, CEO, and cross-functional teams to align design with product vision.
  • Partner with Sales and Growth teams to create product-aligned assets that support the full user journey.
  • Help foster a culture of design excellence and customer-centric thinking across the company.

Strategic Leadership & Impact

  • Shape product vision, strategy, and design culture from an early stage.
  • Take a proactive approach to problem-solving, pushing forward bold ideas that contribute to FlyFlat’s scaling efforts.
  • Serve as a design leader and hands-on contributor in a fast-growth startup environment

Qualifications

Required

  • 5+ years of experience designing and shipping high-quality digital products.
  • Proven experience designing complex systems and simplifying them for great user experience.
  • Strong proficiency with Figma and at least one modern prototyping/collaboration tool that leverages AI.
  • Ability to own the full design process—from research and wireframes to high-fidelity interaction design.
  • Deep understanding of user-centered design principles, interaction design, and visual hierarchy.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to present design rationale across stakeholders.

Preferred

  • Experience designing for or a deep passion for the travel industry.
  • Previous experience working in fast-moving startup environments.

Conclusion: Joining FlyFlat as a Senior Product Designer means playing a key role in transforming premium travel and helping shape the design of a rapidly growing company. This role offers a rare combination of creative autonomy, cross-functional influence, and direct impact on both customer experience and business growth.

Compensation and Employment Details:

  • Monthly Compensation: $3000–$4000 (depending on experience).
  • Equity Compensation: Potential for equity participation.
  • Premium Travel Benefit: At-cost luxury travel with savings up to 80% off retail prices.
  • Full-Time Remote Position.
  • Opportunity to shape product vision and design culture at a scaling company.
  • Close collaboration with company leadership and significant ownership of product direction.
  • A fast-growing, high-performing team solving meaningful problems in luxury travel.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
