Doctors are overworked, burnt out, and are quitting in masses.
At Freed, we combine clinician love with the latest AI tech and intense execution to create products that make clinicians happier.
Our first product is an AI scribe that automates medical documentation.
Since May of 2023, we have:
Acquired 20,000 paying and loving clinicians
Generated 70,000 patient notes daily and over 2 million monthly
Made thousands of clinicians happier
With the backing of Sequoia Capital and other world-class VC’s, we are rapidly expanding our product offering. Patient-facing assistants, patient insights, EHR integrations, and other products are being built and used by thousands of clinicians every day.
We are looking for entrepreneurs. Fast, ambitious, and smart individuals who want to take care of the people who care for our health. Expect intense, clinician-focused, and interesting co-workers who want to win.
With offices in both San Francisco and New York City, we embrace a hybrid schedule that brings out the best in teamwork and innovation. Our teams come together in person three days a week to collaborate, connect, and have a little fun along the way.
About the role
We’re looking for a Senior Product Designer to help transform how clinicians work.
You’ll lead design for core product areas, own the end-to-end user experience, and partner closely with engineering, product, and design peers to bring innovative ideas to life. This role is perfect for someone who is highly autonomous, user centric, and thrives in 0→1 environments.
You’ll help us go from fast-moving MVPs to polished, scalable product — all while deeply rooting your work in clinicians needs.
Lead design for core product areas — from problem framing to polished execution
Collaborate cross-functionally with a small team of engineering, product, and design peers to shape product strategy and roadmap
Bring the clinician voice into the room — through research, usability testing, and systems thinking — and advocate for their needs across product decisions
Create intuitive, clean, and thoughtful UI that balances user needs with product complexity
Work scrappily when needed, and raise the bar when it matters — sweat the details, but know how to move fast
Help us evolve our design system and shape design culture
Have 5+ years of experience designing and shipping high-impact end-to-end products
Can navigate ambiguity and break down complex problems into simple, clear user experiences
Are a strategic thinker who can contribute beyond design — to product and business direction
You value clarity and precision in both your design and your communication
You’re excited about the potential of AI and eager to explore new UX paradigms in AI-first products
Thrive in early-stage, fast-moving teams
Experience in healthcare is not required, but a passion for healthcare and helping others is a must.
Experience working closely with LLMs or AI-driven features
Competitive salary and equity in a high-growth company
Opportunity to make an immediate impact
Medical, dental, and vision coverage
Unlimited paid time off
Company-sponsored annual retreats
