About Wisdom

Wisdom blends industry expertise with advanced technology to make dental practices work better for everyone involved. We believe dentistry is about people, and we exist to make the future of dentistry stronger and more sustainable for dentists, their teams, and the patients they serve. We match administrative teams with expert billers and custom-built technology to take on the heavy lifting of dental billing while maximizing dentists’ time in-office, and their bottom line.

Wisdom is backed by Juxtapose, a leading technology and service investment company which partners with experienced entrepreneurs to build category-defining tech companies. We are a fully distributed, remote-first team with employees across the US.

About The Role

Wisdom is hiring a Senior Product Designer to join our team and play an instrumental role in the early stages of our product. In this role, you’ll own the end-to-end design process, from user research and UX flows to pixel-perfect UI. You'll collaborate closely with a small team to bring new products and features to life.

This is a high-impact, fully remote role reporting to our Head of Engineering, Thomas Huston, and can be based anywhere in the US.

What You'll Do

  • Dig into problems by talking to users, gathering data, and partnering with product to brainstorm, applying design first principles and your past experience to guide decision-making

  • Build and user test wireframes and prototypes of new products and features

  • Incorporate feedback from engineers on technical feasibility into designs

  • Translate wireframes into high-fidelity mockups in Figma

  • Team up with engineers to quickly hammer out design questions that arise during implementation

  • Advocate for users at all stages of the product development lifecycle

We’d Love To Hear From You If You Have

  • At least 4 years of professional experience in UX/UI/product design

  • Experience at an early-stage startup or as the sole designer on a team

  • Proficiency with modern design tools (e.g. Figma, Sketch)

  • Familiarity with prototyping and user testing tools (e.g. Framer, Maze, UserTesting)

  • Experience working closely with engineers

  • A strong product mindset and high user empathy

  • A high level of autonomy, ownership, and curiosity

  • A low ego and willingness to admit mistakes and learn from them

  • Willingness to do the small stuff on occasion (e.g. company T-shirts, presentation templates)

  • Experience designing SaaS or enterprise software products is a strong plus

  • Formal education in design is beneficial but not mandatory - real world experience and demonstrable expertise are prioritized

Wisdom is an equal opportunity employer. We provide employment opportunities without regard to age, race, color, ancestry, national origin, religion, disability, sex, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, veteran status, or any other protected status in accordance with applicable law.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
