We’re redefining sports cards and memorabilia with the first-ever digital card show, built on rock-solid trust, transparency, and an exhilarating passion for the game. This is your chance to join the team before we become the next Uber or Google of collectibles.

About the Role

We’re seeking a Senior Product Designer to join our dynamic team at Arena Club. This is a strategic, high-impact role that goes beyond creating visually stunning designs—it’s about shaping our digital marketplace’s future. You will lead the design vision for our platform, ensuring that every interface is not only beautiful and intuitive but also drives engagement and revenue. Collaborating closely with product, engineering, and marketing teams, you’ll transform complex user needs and business goals into compelling design solutions. As a design leader, you will also mentor junior team members and help define best practices across our organization.

What You Will Do

  • Design Leadership: Own the full product design lifecycle, setting the visual and experiential direction for our website, mobile apps, and promotional materials
  • Strategic Innovation: Develop and implement design strategies that elevate user engagement and drive revenue growth, ensuring our digital marketplace stays ahead of industry trends
  • User Research: Plan and conduct user interviews, usability testing, and surveys to uncover deep insights—turning qualitative and quantitative data into actionable design decisions that align with business goals
  • Product Discovery: Collaborate closely with executive team, product, engineering, users, and stakeholders to align on the right problems to solve—facilitating workshops, gathering input, and building consensus to ensure solutions are both user-centered and strategically sound
  • Data-Driven Design & Outcomes: Leverage user data, A/B testing, and analytics to inform design decisions and iterate rapidly—focusing not just on visual polish, but on driving measurable outcomes like activation, retention, and user satisfaction
  • Mentorship & Team Building: Provide design mentorship and thought leadership, fostering a collaborative culture of creativity and excellence

Minimum Requirements

  • 5+ years of professional experience in product design, with a robust portfolio demonstrating leadership in creating complex, user-centric interfaces
  • Expertise in Figma and Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
  • Proven experience driving design strategy and execution for consumer mobile apps
  • Exceptional communication, collaboration, and mentorship skills, with a demonstrated ability to lead and inspire cross-functional teams
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to continuous improvement
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, innovative environment and adapt quickly to shifting priorities
  • Proven experience in design quality assurance, ensuring that design outputs consistently meet the highest standards for user-centricity and functionality

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree or certification in Graphic Design, UX/UI Design, or related fields
  • Experience designing for mobile applications (iOS and Android) at scale
  • Deep understanding of UX/UI principles, including user-centered design, wireframing, prototyping, and usability testing
  • Familiarity with design systems and agile product development methodologies
  • Previous experience in a leadership or managerial role within a high-growth digital environment

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
