OVERVIEW:

As Pathstream expands its partnerships with Fortune 500 companies, we are seeking a Senior Product Designer to lead the design of intuitive and engaging experiences that drive employee success.

We are looking for someone with deep expertise in product and UX/UI design, strong technical design acumen, and a proven ability to influence cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker, a clear communicator, and a creative problem-solver who thrives in ambiguity and takes ownership from concept through execution.

In this role, you will take a holistic approach to problem-solving, crafting seamless onboarding, activation, and engagement solutions that empower employees to achieve their career goals. As a key contributor, you will elevate the standard of design excellence across both visual and interaction design, ensuring our platform meets user needs while delivering a best-in-class experience.

This is a full-time, salaried role reporting to the Director of Product Design and Research.

WHAT WE DO:

Pathstream was founded on the premise that substantial unrealized economic & human potential exists within each organization’s frontline workforce. We are reshaping the way employees and managers on the frontlines excel in their careers. In this age of rapid tech evolution, our enterprise partnerships transform frontline teams from transactional to relational, from back office to middle office, and from task-oriented to strategic. We impact companies’ bottom lines with improved productivity, increased retention, and differentiated quality of customer experience; employees experience the benefits of greater success in their current roles while unlocking future professional growth.

We’re a tight-knit, hardworking, mission-driven team of ~60 employees who are eager to scale our solution and transform careers across the United States.  Want to learn more?

THE ROLE:

In this role, you will:

  • Drive design vision, creating elegant, intuitive solutions that enhance user experience and product adoption.
  • Apply strong UX/UI execution skills to produce high-quality design deliverables, from wireframes to polished interfaces.

  • Make and communicate thoughtful design tradeoffs and decisions, balancing user needs, technical considerations, and business goals.
  • Partner closely with engineering to ensure your designs are implementation-ready and grounded in technical reality.
  • Collaborate with other designers, helping elevate the team’s overall quality and craft.
  • Foster strong cross-functional collaboration, actively contributing to a team culture that values shared ownership and feedback.
  • Flexibly support other areas of product experience as needed, contributing to a consistent and high-quality design system across the platform.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
