As a Senior Product Designer for eBay, you will work side-by-side with designers and cross-functional leaders from across the company to develop innovative and user-centered experiences. We will depend on you to build meaningful, collaborative relationships with our product and engineering partners that pave the way for intuitive solutions. With a dedication to craft, you will contribute to key features and products based on company priorities that shape experiences for buyers and sellers on eBay and solve eBay’s biggest challenges.

 What you will accomplish:

  • Contribute to key features and products based on company priorities, taking full ownership of the workstreams.

  • Work “end to end” — from identifying problems to delivering a full and complete product solution — delivering with efficiency, agility and velocity.

  • Understand business, customer and experience goals and challenges and be able to generate those into a well-rounded POV that considers perspectives from partner teams, anticipates risks, and engages in healthy debate that leads to resolution.

  • Help lead product discovery activities and collaborate on the future direction of the product with peers, researchers, design leaders, product partners, engineers and executives

  • Collaborate with colleagues and cross-functional partners to rapidly produce inventive and thoughtful product experiences, ensure work meets requirements, foresee challenges and involve the right stakeholders at the right time.

  • Apply best-in-class examples as well as research and customer insights to inform decision making and build relevant solutions.

  • Create user scenarios, journey maps, wireframes, Lo-Fi / Hi-Fi designs and prototypes throughout the full cycle of the product development process.

What you will bring:

  • 5+ years of experience in interaction, product, or UX design.

  • Outstanding online portfolio that shows a broad range of interaction design work from native apps, web and desktop-based applications.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects across different teams in a fast-paced, agile environment using strong people, project, communication and organizational skills.

  • Experience using human centered design and design thinking to build scalable frameworks and strategies for projects end-to-end.

  • Experience using data and research to impact decision making and measure outcomes.

  • Excellent communication and organization skills, with the ability to present ideas concisely and persuasively to peers and leaders to solicit design feedback and gain alignment.

  • Proactively identifies opportunities for org improvement and shapes org culture

  • Expert in design and prototyping tools like Figma, and a “stickler” for clean, organized files.

  • Proactively identifies opportunities for self-development and provides informal mentorship

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
