Senior Product Designer (UX/UI Designer)

Location: Burbank, CA (Hybrid - 3 Days a Week)

Duration: 12 Months

Project: Our team builds user centric B2B, and POC digital products for a high-profile media company. We work in a deeply collaborative environment with designers working across multiple projects and business units. Your role, as a Lead Product Designer, is a very rewarding position with the opportunity to create and improve the digital products that run our company; from internal operations to external facing sites that encompass brands. You will also have great networking opportunities with multiple teams cross-functionally.

Job Responsibilities:

UX/UI Design:

  • Translate complex business needs and user research insights into Wireframes, high fidelity Interactive Prototypes and production ready assets.
  • Leverage and contribute to Design Systems to create native experiences across Web and Mobile.

User Research and Design Thinking:

  • Assist in framing research goals and objectives.
  • Deeply empathize with users while conducting primary user research to uncover unmet needs, pain points and motivations
  • Ability to identify key patterns and trends from user interviews, feedback, and data.
  • Synthesize and present research outputs through thematic insights, user journeys, workflows, and similar artifacts.
  • Conceive and facilitate internal workshops using Design Thinking methodologies to guide teams from ideation to prototyping.

Design Systems:

  • Leveraging design systems within Figma to ensure consistency and scalability across projects.

Advanced Prototyping:

  • Applying knowledge in variables, conditionals, and expressions to create more interactive and complex prototypes, reducing the number of frames and interactions needed.
  • Utilizing components (including master components, instance components, and variants) enables the creation of reusable elements across projects, ensuring consistency and streamlining the

design process.

  • Mastering Auto Layout allows for consistent spacing and alignment, adapting to changes in content or element placement, which is crucial for responsive designs and complex layouts.

Collaboration and Teamwork:

  • Ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders, design, product, and development teams to integrate findings into projects.
  • Adaptability to work in diverse team environments and respond to changing project needs.

Must Have Skills:

  • Ideallly 5-7 years pf experience
  • Advanced knowledge in Figma.
  • Main tool and environment for design work
  • Will be used for layout, prototyping, and communicating visual intent.
  • Designing from and contributing to Design Libraries
  • Excellent visual design skills – shown in Portfolio.
  • Want to see engaging design and problem-solving approach in your work.
  • Many of our products are data-heavy, your portfolio should include examples of how you think of data- and task-centric interfaces.
  • Information and Data Synthesis Experience
  • Making visual or other representations of data to communicate with stakeholders and clients.

Nice to Have Skills:

  • Experience in designing Enterprise products.
  • Experience in software design and development.
  • Background in Media or Entertainment.
  • Branding experience.
  • Background in Media or Entertainment
  • Having experience in branding and graphic design across different media, outside of digital.

Technology Requirements:

  • Figma – design & interaction tool
  • Adobe Creative Suite
  • Miro – business collaboration tool
  • Jira – Project management and tracking
  • Confluence – for documenting data
  • MO365

Soft Skills:

  • User-Centered Mindset: A passion for understanding and advocating for the end user throughout the design process.
  • Communication Skills:
  • The ability to present complex data and findings in a clear and compelling way to stakeholders at all levels.
  • Verbally, visually and in written form.
  • Able to communicate with and build trust-based relationships across different functions and teams.
  • Analytical Thinking: Strong ability to interpret data, find patterns, and generate insights from research findings.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • As a Lead Product Designer, you are expected to be able to quickly ramp up on project needs and work independently and without supervision.
  • You are comfortable in ambiguous situations where you need to define needs iteratively and continuously and can flex as new information is presented to you.
