Chewy is dedicated to being the most trusted and convenient online destination for pet parents (and partners), everywhere. On our design and research team, we embrace this vision (and our pets!). We craft experiences that delight customers (and the businesses and veterinarians that support them) and empower them to keep their pets happy and healthy. As a team of hard-working, collaborative, and fun-loving designers, researchers, and builders, we're looking for creative and driven talent to join the pack.
We are seeking a Senior Product Designer, Pharmacy Services in either our Bellevue, WA or Boston, MA offices to join the Chewy Health Product Design and Research team. This role will be dedicated to Chewy's Pharmacy Services team, which includes how we receive, type and check the accuracy of prescriptions, as well as how we build medications from scratch in our Compounding Pharmacy. • Collaborate with product managers, developers, content strategists, user researchers, and other designers.
  • Champion cohesion and consistency to unite a growing family of products while building a culture of invention and innovation.
  • Clearly present your design process, inspiration, and decisions to stakeholders, including C-suite executives.
  • Nurture Chewy's culture and principles within the group and set new standards for executional and operational excellence.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 6+ years of experience as a user experience designer, interaction designer, information architect, or similar role
  • 2+ years of experience leading large-scale product design initiatives.
  • A track record of delivering high-quality digital products that delivered results and demonstrate the depth of your design skills; illustrated in a portfolio or case studies.
  • Proven experience communicating and presenting complex problems clearly.
  • A proven ability to evaluate the customer and business impact of your design decisions.
  • Bachelor's degree (or an equivalent degree) in Design, HCI, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience with the design field.
  • Position may require travel and requires time in the local office.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in human or veterinary pharmacy is a plus.
  • Experience in medication compounding software is also a plus.

Hub Locations & Work Arrangement:

  • Hybrid Model: 3 days in hub location per week
  • Remote: This role is NOT a remote role.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
