Build the data infrastructure for robots operating in the real world.

Robotics is moving from research labs into production across factories, warehouses, vehicles, and field deployments. When robots fail, behave unexpectedly, or need to be improved, engineers rely on data to understand what actually happened.

At Foxglove, we build the observability, visualization, and data infrastructure that makes that possible. Our tools are used by robotics and autonomous systems teams to ingest, store, query, replay, and analyze massive volumes of multimodal sensor data from live systems and from production fleets.

About the role

We’re looking for a Senior Product Designer, Growth to join the Foxglove design team. In this role you will embed directly with our Growth team and own critical parts of the customer journey, from acquisition and onboarding to activation, monetization, and expansion. You will work at the intersection of product design, experimentation, and systems thinking, partnering closely with Product, Engineering, Data, and Marketing.

This role is ideal for a designer who thrives in ambiguity, cares deeply about craft, and is energized by using data and experimentation to drive meaningful user and business outcomes without sacrificing usability or trust.

Key Responsibilities
  • Own growth design across key funnels, including onboarding, activation, upgrades, and expansion surfaces

  • Partner with Product and Engineering to define strategy, roadmap, and hypotheses for growth initiatives

  • Design and iterate on experiments, systems, and new product experiences, translating qualitative and quantitative insights into testable ideas

  • Create intuitive, elegant flows that help users reach value quickly, especially for technical, developer-focused audiences

  • Balance rapid experimentation such as A/B testing with thoughtful, long-term design strategy

  • Distill complex technical concepts into clear, usable, and delightful experiences

  • Facilitate design workshops and critiques that drive alignment, creativity, and strong decision-making

  • Advocate for high-quality craft, accessibility, and consistency across the product

  • Share learnings from growth experiments to strengthen Foxglove’s design systems and collective knowledge

What we're looking for
  • Minimum of 5 years of product design experience, with a focus on growth, monetization, and onboarding.

  • A portfolio that demonstrates clear user and business impact, beyond polished visuals.

  • Experience designing for funnels, experiments, and metrics, with the ability to interpret results thoughtfully.

  • Strong interaction design, visual craft, and prototyping skills, with excellent attention to detail.

  • Comfort conducting lightweight research, usability testing, and validation independently.

  • Ability to clearly articulate design rationale, challenge assumptions constructively, and guide cross-functional decision-making.

  • Proven ability to thrive in fast-moving environments and take ownership from problem definition through launch.

Bonus points
  • Experience designing for developer tools, technical products, or complex B2B workflows

  • Experience contributing to or evolving design systems in a scaling product

What we offer
  • $300 monthly budget towards commuter benefits or building your personal workspace (remote only)

  • Competitive equity grant in a Series B company

  • Medical, Dental, Vision, and Term Life insurance coverage at 100% for employees and 75% for dependents

  • 401k matching up to 4%

  • 4 weeks vacation, plus holidays and winter break

  • All expenses paid company off-sites 1-2x/year

Please include a link to your portfolio showcasing relevant work samples. A portfolio submission is required for consideration for this role.

Why Join Us
  • Impact: Own growth at a fast-growing, high-leverage moment for the company.

  • Mission: Accelerate the development of the next generation of robotics and embodied AI.

  • Team: Work with world-class engineers, designers, and researchers passionate about open-source and developer tools.

  • Ownership: Drive initiatives end-to-end, with high autonomy and visibility.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
