Job Title:Senior Product Counsel - Remote

Role Overview:

Are you a dynamic lawyer who has a passion for working on innovative offerings in cybersecurity? Are you interested in joining a high functioning Product Legal team which is a true partner in our product development?

You’ll deeply engage, communicate openly, and forge close working relationships with our Product, Engineering, and User Experience teams. You’re a confident self-starter who can prioritize and manage multiple tasks and responsibilities and enjoys working in a fast-paced and high-energy environment. This is your opportunity to use your exceptional judgment and strong critical thinking and interpersonal skills to be comfortable, effective, and persuasive in partnering with business teams.

This is a Remote position located in the US. We are only considering candidates located in the US and are not providing relocation at this time.

About the role:

  • Develop and use a deep working knowledge of product lines and feature sets to facilitate creative legal solutions tailored to business objectives

  • Partner with internal clients and legal colleagues to drive innovation and provide practical legal advice to manage risk and facilitate compliance with applicable laws and regulations

  • Analyze and advise on a broad range of issues including cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, consumer protection, intellectual property, and regulatory compliance

  • Implement and refine internal legal processes and manage outside counsel

About you: 

  • 8+ years of experience (we’d love more!) of combined law firm and/or in-house legal experience

  • 3+ years of experience (we’d love more!) counseling software product teams through entire development lifecycle

  • JD degree from an ABA accredited law school is required

  • Admitted to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction (state or D.C.) is required

  • Technical background or direct experience in consumer software and/or cybersecurity

  • Familiar with and able to stay up to date on laws, regulations, and trends relevant to technology, artificial intelligence, consumer protection, intellectual property

  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and driven to seek out and implement improvements in delivery of top-notch legal services

  • Strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple complex initiatives independently

  • Adept at building strong relationships with stakeholders across the company and can collaborate well with teams

  • Able to communicate legal issues simply and clearly to leadership, with excellent writing and verbal communication skills
