Root was founded on the belief that car insurance is broken, and we set out to change it. We’re harnessing the power of technology to revolutionize this archaic, complicated industry. Using machine learning and mobile telematic platforms, we’ve built one of the most innovative insurtech companies in the world.

The Opportunity

At Root, we’re on a mission to improve the lives of our customers by offering better insurance solutions. We challenge ourselves to think differently in order to reimagine insurance to make it smarter, more equitable, and a better experience for all.

We strive to “unbreak” the archaic insurance industry by using data and technology in innovative new ways. We believe we must be steadfast in our commitments to research, experiment, and maintain disciplined data-driven decision making in order to build products our customers love. Analytics sits at the center of our vision.

Our Customer Experience teams manage all aspects of both prospective customer and policy holder experiences. Root product teams drive customer engagement, optimize funnel performance, and ultimately improve customer conversion and retention by developing new strategies around the onboarding flows, quoting experience, and policy holder interfaces. These teams strive to design exceptional customer experiences that maximize customer conversion, longevity, and satisfaction.

As a Senior Product Analyst, you’ll play a key role in shaping the future of the Customer Experience team by delivering actionable insights that inform product strategy and decision-making. You'll be responsible for monitoring business trends, conducting exploratory research, running AB tests, studying the impacts of new business strategies, analyzing the overall performance of our onboarding experiences, and introducing new metrics and reporting to shape how we measure and drive our business. You’ll work closely with partners in Product, Data Science, Design, and Engineering to ensure our business decisions and strategies are data driven and achieve optimal outcomes.

Salary Range:  $109,500 - $125,000

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
