At Spreetail, we believe in empowering our employees to work in the way that suits them best through our Work Your Way approach. Each team member has the flexibility to choose where they work most effectively each week—whether that's from home, a coffee shop, or the office. While flexibility is key, we also value the power of in-person connection. That’s why we bring our corporate team together in Lincoln each quarter for a week of intentional collaboration, team building, community engagement, and our All-Hands meeting. It’s the best of both worlds: the freedom to work your way, with meaningful opportunities to connect and grow together. Please scroll to the bottom of the job posting to confirm that your state qualifies for the Work Your Way program.

Spreetail is seeking a Senior Procurement Manager (Approvals) to join our dynamic team and play a pivotal role in shaping our purchasing strategy. In this critical position, you will be the subject matter expert for our Purchase Order (PO) approval process, ensuring every order aligns with our financial goals and business objectives. You will leverage your analytical skills to identify opportunities, mitigate risks, and drive continuous improvement across our procurement operations.

How you will achieve success:

  • Drive Purchasing Excellence: Evaluate and approve a high volume of purchase orders for both domestic and international vendors, serving as the key decision-maker on complex and high-value orders.
  • Data-Driven Decision Making: Analyze historical and forward-looking data using tools like Power BI and Excel to assess risk, enhance profit margins, and optimize inventory levels.
  • Strategic Process Improvement: Proactively identify trends and inefficiencies in buying behaviors. Collaborate with Merchandising, Planning, and Finance teams to address root causes and implement lasting solutions.
  • Cross-Functional Leadership: Act as a central point of contact between key departments, ensuring a seamless and efficient PO submission and approval process.
  • Champion Best Practices: Develop and maintain robust documentation and play a key role in evolving our operational playbook. You will onboard and coach new team members and provide expert guidance on workflow optimization.
  • Impactful Reporting: Generate and analyze reports on PO approval trends, Service Level Agreement (SLA) performance, and identified risks to inform strategic business decisions.

What experiences will help you in this role:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Business, Supply Chain, or a related field.
  • 2–4 years of experience in procurement, process operations, or approvals - understanding the full PO lifecycle from creation to payment.
  • 2–4 years of experience leading or supporting process improvements across a large, cross-functional organization.
  • 1–2 years of experience working with or presenting to senior leaders, including in high-stakes or conflict-resolution settings.
  • Strong data fluency - can interpret complex datasets and translate them into actionable decisions (Excel, Power BI experience preferred).
  • A practical, business-first mindset - focused on outcomes like margin, risk reduction, and inventory efficiency.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
