Who We Are

Prophet Security is a VC-backed start-up building technologies that leverage generative AI to streamline the triage and investigation of security alerts in enterprises. The modern security perimeter spans everything from cloud VMs to email inboxes, and yet most tools still expect analysts to swivel-chair between dashboards and piece together context manually.

We believe the future of security operations is agentic – built on AI systems that can reason, investigate, and take action across the security stack. To get there, we're building deep integrations with the tools customers already use, so AI agents can move as fast as the threats they’re defending against, and we’re looking for our first Product UI/UX Designer to optimize the product for all levels of security professionals.

The Impact You’ll Have

As our first Product UI/UX Designer, you'll define the foundation for design of our agentic Security Operations Center (SoC) platform, with a huge surface area. You will be crafting intuitive, efficient, and visually appealing interfaces that allow security professionals to confidently navigate complex data, automate responses, and gain actionable insights. This role offers a unique opportunity to design for a complex and evolving product at the intersection of security and AI. The ideal candidate possesses a strong understanding of information architecture, user workflows, a keen eye for visual aesthetics, and ideally first hand experience in the security related domain. You thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic startup environment and are comfortable advocating for your design decisions.

Responsibilities:

  • To make our product clearer, faster, better.

  • Create wireframes, and high-fidelity UI designs for our SoC platform, focusing on usability and visual appeal.

  • Develop and maintain clear and logical information architectures and user interactions that prioritize key information and streamline workflows. This is especially important given the complexity of security data.

  • Conduct user research activities, including usability testing and A/B testing, to gather feedback and iterate on designs.

  • Contribute to and maintain our design system, ensuring consistency and scalability across the platform.

  • Work closely with product managers and engineers to define product requirements and translate them into effective design solutions.

  • Articulate design decisions clearly and confidently, advocating for user-centered design principles and defending those decisions constructively in discussions with stakeholders.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in UI Design, with a strong portfolio demonstrating your design process and problem-solving skills.

  • Experience shipping real products.

  • Strong prototyping skills—you use motion and interaction to test, communicate, and clarify ideas.

  • Deep familiarity with Figma—you design, prototype, and collaborate in one place.

  • A deep understanding of information architecture, user flows, and interaction design principles.

  • Experience designing complex data-driven applications.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to clearly articulate design decisions and rationale.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

  • A passion for user-centered design and a strong desire to create exceptional user experiences.

  • Experience with design systems and a commitment to design consistency.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience in the security or cybersecurity industry.

  • Familiarity with agentic systems or automation workflows.

  • Experience with user research methodologies (e.g., interviews, surveys, usability testing).

  • Experience with data visualization.

  • Experience with accessibility testing tools and techniques.

  • Basic understanding of front-end development technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript), and charting libraries such as Chart.js or D3.

  • A familiarity with TailwindCSS is a big plus.

Our Company Values

  • Customer Centricity: Focus on exceeding customer expectations and placing them at the core of decisions

  • Practicality over Perfection: Emphasis on efficient solutions and agile decision-making

  • Strive for Excellence: Commitment to high standards and continuous improvement

  • Transparent Communication: Encouragement of open, honest dialogue and collaborative trust

  • Unwavering Resilience: Determination to overcome challenges and persist in achieving goals

  • Have Fun: Foster a positive work environment that balances hard work with enjoyment and creativity

Prophet Security takes pride in being an equal-opportunity employer. We value a diverse and global talent pool and the collaboration that results from having a diverse and inclusive team. All applicants will be considered for employment without attention to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, veteran or disability status. Our hiring decisions are based exclusively on merit, qualifications, and business needs.

Compensation

Employee compensation will be determined based on interview performance, level of experience, specialization of skills, and market rate. During the offer discussion, your recruiter will review the finalized base salary, bonus (for applicable roles), benefits & perks, and stock options as they’ll be reflected in the offer letter.

Employees hired in the U.S. and Canada can expect the below information to reflect a reasonable estimate of the salary offered for this role. Salary ranges are updated regularly using premium market data. It is unusual for new hires to receive a starting base salary at the top of the range. The value of Prophet's stock options is not included in the salary bands and may represent a significant portion of your compensation.

Salary Range: 160,000 - 190,000 + Stock Options (there may be some flexibility above this range if candidates have rare and especially relevant industry experience).

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
