Job Description

Your Role

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Sr. Principal DevSecOps Engineer to join our Software Engineering Practices organization. This internal role is pivotal in providing hands-on coaching and guidance to our software engineering teams, with a strong focus on adopting and integrating DevOps practices.

You will be responsible for:

  • Provide direct support and mentorship to engineering teams, helping them implement and optimize DevOps practices.

  • Develop and share best practices for software development, continuous integration, continuous delivery, and infrastructure as code.

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure low-friction adoption and seamless integration of DevOps practices.

  • Assist teams in troubleshooting and resolving technical challenges related to DevOps tools and processes, and software engineering practices.

  • Conduct training sessions and workshops to upskill team members on DevOps tools and techniques.

  • Foster a supportive environment, understanding the challenges developers face and providing empathetic guidance.

  • Lead and coach teams in all aspects of SDLC, including solutioning, designing, testing, securing, and implementing.

The experience you bring:

  • Minimum of 10 plus years of experience in software engineering and DevOps practices. Experience in software architecture is a plus.

  • Fundamental knowledge of DevOps tools and practices, including CI/CD pipelines, containerization, and cloud infrastructure.

  • Extensive knowledge and experience in software engineering in one or more of the following languages: Java, Python, Node.JS, and .Net.

  • Extensive knowledge and experience with scripting for process automation.

  • Proven track record of leading and mentoring technical teams.

  • Strong systems thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues efficiently.

  • Commitment to continuous learning and staying updated with the latest industry trends and technologies.

  • Experience with open source and InnerSource software engineering practices, including contributing to and managing open-source projects, and fostering a culture of collaboration and shared code within the organization.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field is required.

  • A Master’s degree or higher in a relevant field is preferred. Relevant fields include Engineering, Business, and Education.

  • Relevant certifications in DevOps, Agile methodologies, or cloud technologies are a plus.
