The Senior Principal Designer will shape AI-native software development, collaborating with design and engineering teams to enhance user experiences and align products.
Location: Remote (Zone B and Zone C only)
Working at Atlassian
Atlassians can choose where they work - whether in an office, from home, or a combination of the two. That way, Atlassians have more control over supporting their family, personal goals, and other priorities. We can hire people in any country where we have a legal entity. Interviews and onboarding are conducted virtually, a part of being a distributed-first company. This role is open to candidates located in Zone B and Zone C only. Please refer to go.atlassian.com/payzones for more information on which locations are included in each of our geographic pay zones. Candidates must be located in these zones on Day 1 of employment.
About this role
Software practice is going through a once-in-a-lifetime change, brought about by powerful new AI capabilities. This role will help Atlassian redefine software practice in this AI-native world, working with talented designers across Atlassian's software team-specific products to produce short- and long-term user-centered design. This Sr. Principal Designer will work with heads of design, product and engineering (along with other designers and researchers), to envision an AI-native software development life cycle (SDLC), driving alignment and connection between Atlassian's existing portfolio of products.
The ideal candidate will have experience designing tools for developers and/or across the SDLC, as well as experience designing AI-powered features or products. The ideal candidate is a blend of technical depth with systems thinking, yet who obsesses over design details. The role reports directly to the Head of Design for Software Collection.
Help Atlassian finally solve long-time toil in the software development process!
