As part of our Clinical Affairs team, you’ll hone your scientific curiosity and passion for evaluating data to increase access to pioneering technologies for patients in need. In close partnership with principal investigators, dedicated medical professionals, patient advocacy groups, and regulatory authorities, you will drive the evidence needed to optimize patient outcomes.

You will make an impact by...

  • Leading the development and implementation of machine learning solutions and large language models to optimize clinical trial processes

  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to apply predictive modeling, ensure data accuracy, and deliver insights through dashboards

  • Driving AI/ML strategy and overseeing data governance for machine learning initiatives

  • Providing expertise in the creation of machine learning and AI foundations for the assigned Business Unit Clinical Affairs

  • Offering technical guidance on predictive modeling and algorithms to help team members optimize clinical trial data

  • Identifying new objectives and goals to enhance business processes and improve model performance and data accuracy

  • Partnering with internal and external stakeholders to plan implementation meetings, including testing and training machine learning models while monitoring outcomes

  • Delivering dashboard reports to leadership on the effectiveness of machine learning tools and applications to support data-driven decision-making

  • Leveraging various sources of data to develop enhanced solutions in collaboration with stakeholders across the business

  • Developing procedures and guidelines to support the future of machine learning development within the assigned Business Unit

  • Performing other incidental duties as assigned

What you'll need (Required):

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, Biostatistics or Scientific field, with 8 years related experience including either industry or industry/education 

  • Master's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Biostatistics or Scientific field, with 7 years related experience including either industry or industry/education

  • Ph.D. or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Biostatistics or Scientific field, with 4 years related experience including either industry or industry/education

What else we look for (Preferred):

  • Experience with machine learning techniques (e.g., clustering, decision tree learning, artificial neural networks, etc.)

  • Experience using statistical computer languages (e.g., R, Python, SQL, etc.) to manipulate large data sets

  • Experience in data visualization tools (i.e. Qlikview, Tableau, etc.)

  • Experience with using web services (e.g., Redshift, S3, Spark, etc.)

  • Excellent documentation and communication skills

  • Excellent interpersonal relationship skills including negotiating and relationship management skills

  • Proven expertise in statistical techniques (e.g. distributions, statistical testing, regression, etc.)

  • Proven expertise on MS Office Suite (e.g., Microsoft Office Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Access)

  • Working knowledge in related tools and applications (e.g., Oracle, JDE, Concur, Salesforce.com) preferred

  • Excellent and successful project management skills

  • Recognized as an expert in own area within the organization

  • Expert knowledge and understanding of principles, theories, and concepts relevant to Artificial Intelligence (AI) and/or Machine Learning model development, and/or Control Systems

  • Advanced problem-solving, organizational, analytical and critical thinking skills

  • Expert understanding of processes and equipment used in assigned work

  • Strong leadership skills and demonstrated ability to influence change

  • Strict attention to detail

  • Ability to interact professionally with all organizational levels

  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment

  • Represents organization as key technical contact on contracts and projects

  • Interacts with senior external representatives on significant technical matters often requiring coordination between organizations

  • Adhere to all company rules and requirements (e.g., pandemic protocols, Environmental Health & Safety rules) and take adequate control measures in preventing injuries to themselves and others as well as to the protection of environment and prevention of pollution under their span of influence/control

Aligning our overall business objectives with performance, we offer competitive salaries, performance-based incentives, and a wide variety of benefits programs to address the diverse individual needs of our employees and their families.
For California (CA), the base pay range for this position is $142,000 to $201,000 (highly experienced).
The pay for the successful candidate will depend on various factors (e.g., qualifications, education, prior experience).  Applications will be accepted while this position is posted on our Careers website.
