Role overview
As a core member of the Pricing & Packaging team, this role will play a key part in developing pricing & packaging strategies that help meaningfully grow revenue at CarGurus. This role will be responsible for identifying and designing value-based pricing strategies across our diverse product portfolio and for working closely with cross-functional teams to test and launch these new pricing approaches. This role is hybrid 3x per week out of our Back Bay office.
What you'll do
  • Lead the design of value-based pricing and packaging strategies that align with customer needs and business objectives
  • Design and execute thorough quantitative analyses using statistical techniques such as regression to reach pricing, packaging, segmentation and discounting recommendations
  • Conduct qualitative and quantitative market research, competitive assessments and product usage analysis to inform pricing decisions
  • Partner with the sales, marketing, finance, product, and engineering departments to help translate recommendations into actions that help grow the business
  • Monitor performance of existing pricing and packaging structures and identify opportunities to accelerate growth

What you'll bring
  • 4+ years of relevant work experience in an analytical and strategic role across data analytics, management consulting, investment banking or business intelligence. Direct pricing & packaging experience a plus
  • Exceptional analytical and problem solving skills. Able to break down ambiguous problems and apply a first principles approach to solving them
  • Advanced technical skill set. Working knowledge of SQL and Python. Must be comfortable applying statistical techniques such as regression and trend analysis to uncover actionable insights from large data sets
  • Strong communicator. You can crisply communicate actionable data-driven insights to all audiences
  • Highly autonomous and self-directed, with the ability to drive projects from conception to execution in a fast-paced environment
