Position Summary

The Senior Presentation Designer on the Visual Strategy and Design (VS&D) team is an enthusiastic collaborator and a masterful visual storyteller. They are passionate about design, research, and the challenge of translating complex information into sophisticated, accessible, and visually inspiring stories. Strategic, inspirational, and forward-thinking, the Senior Presentation Designer works well independently but also responds effectively to direction and guidance from team leads, their manager, and fellow designers.

Brado's research strategists conduct market research, which is then synthesized into compelling narratives. Collaborating closely with these strategists, the Presentation Designer leverages graphic design, visual storytelling, and other communication strategies to transform the content into organized, impactful, and clearly communicated visual presentations.

The Senior Presentation Designer takes pride in their work and manages their time effectively, staying ahead of often-shifting deadlines while balancing multiple projects simultaneously. They actively ask questions throughout the entire arc of a project, from design inception through final delivery, taking ownership of the outcome.

The ideal candidate for this role will live in the St. Louis metro area and will be in the office two or three days each week to allow for in-person collaboration with key members of the team.

Key Areas of Responsibility

  • Reliably produce work that is strategic, fresh, and memorable.
  • Leverage a wide range of design and visual storytelling skills including but not limited to custom illustrations, icons, stock photography etc. to help the research strategists team tell compelling and impactful stories. Deliverables include presentations, reports, infographics, magazines, booklets, posters, websites, etc.
  • Work independently and collaboratively with research strategists and video editors to translate research findings into visual presentations and design, elevating the overall findings.
  • Reviews dense and sometimes complicated research reports and brings them to life in a visually engaging way.
  • Meet deadlines for all key tasks and alert the team if a deadline looks to be compromised. Communicate proactively to keep projects and workload on track.
  • Actively learn and share knowledge with the VS&D team, sometimes acting as a mentor to junior VS&D members.
  • As needed, engage with external illustrators to art direct their work.
Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in graphic design, fine art, or marketing communications with emphasis on art direction, design, or presentation design, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of professional experience designing print and digital material as part of an in-house or agency team.
  • Masterful at presentation design, particularly in MS PowerPoint.
  • Expertise using Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, etc.).
  • Exceptional visual design, typography, and document layout skills.
  • Working knowledge with Squarespace, Wix, Word Press, Figma, or other web design platforms preferred.
  • Working knowledge of animation, motion graphics programs, and gif creation preferred.
