The Senior Premium Auditor conducts sophisticated premium audits for complex business structures, handling multiple entities, intricate contractor relationships, and advanced payroll and benefit arrangements. This role leads audits for high-value accounts, ensures compliance with multi-state and special bureau regulations, and applies expert knowledge of NCCI systems and unique industry classifications.
Additional responsibilities include mentoring and training team members, supporting process improvements, and contributing to strategic planning and policy development. The position requires strong analytical skills, effective multitasking, and a commitment to confidentiality and high performance standards.
How You’ll Do It- Conduct sophisticated premium audits across all platforms with focus on complex business structures and unusual operations.
- Handle audits involving multiple entities, complex contractor relationships, and intricate business arrangements.
- Analyze sophisticated payroll structures, profit-sharing arrangements, and complex employee benefit programs.
- Lead audits for high-value accounts and businesses with significant regulatory complexity.
- Provide expertise on unusual industry classifications and complex exposure scenarios.
- Ensure compliance with advanced regulatory requirements across multiple states and special bureaus.
Expert Classification & Regulatory Knowledge:
- Apply advanced knowledge of NCCI systems, state bureau requirements, and special jurisdiction rules.
- Handle complex classification scenarios involving unusual business operations and emerging industries.
- Provide expertise on special bureaus (PA/DE, CA, NJ, NY) and unusual regulatory requirements.
- Research and resolve complex classification disputes and unusual exposure scenarios.
- Stay current with regulatory changes and emerging classification requirements.
Advanced Insured Relationship Management:
- Lead complex insured interactions involving sensitive business information and challenging personalities.
- Handle escalated concerns and difficult conversations about audit findings and business operations.
- Build and maintain relationships with sophisticated business owners and financial teams.
- Serve as subject matter expert for challenging insured relationship scenarios.
- Coordinate with legal and compliance teams when necessary for complex audit situations.
Virtual Audit Leadership & Technology Innovation:
- Support Team Lead in implementation of advanced virtual audit technologies and methodologies.
- Develop and refine virtual audit procedures for complex business scenarios.
- Train junior auditors on virtual audit best practices and advanced technologies.
- Coordinate complex virtual audits involving multiple business locations and entities.
- Provide expertise on emerging audit technologies and their application.
Training & Mentorship Responsibilities:
- Mentor P3-level Premium Auditors and other team members on complex audit procedures.
- Develop training materials and conduct training sessions on advanced audit concepts.
- Provide guidance on complex business analysis and classification scenarios.
- Lead knowledge sharing sessions and best practice development.
- Support onboarding of new audit team members.
Strategic Process Development & Leadership:
- Support Team Lead in audit procedure improvement initiatives and strategic planning sessions.
- Provide advanced feedback on department transformation strategies.
- Contribute to policy development and procedure refinement for complex scenarios.
- Recommend operational enhancements.
- Support implementation of emerging technologies and process innovations.
Quality Assurance & Compliance:
- Ensure all audit documentation meets regulatory standards and company policies.
- Complete audits within established timeframes while maintaining thoroughness.
- Maintain the highest level of confidentiality and professional discretion.
- Minimum 5-7 years conducting Workers Compensation premium audits with increasing complexity and responsibility.
- Advanced knowledge of NCCI classification systems and state bureau requirements.
- Substantial experience with special bureaus: PA/DE, CA, NJ, NY required.
- Multi-state audit expertise and complex regulatory knowledge.
- Leadership or mentoring experience in audit or related financial analysis environments.

- Advanced proficiency with classification systems and specialized bureau requirements.
- Experience with sophisticated audit software systems and emerging technologies.
