Who we are looking for:

We're looking for a highly motivated and experienced Infrastructure BizOps Associate, Capacity Planning to join our growing team. This is a critical role that sits at the intersection of finance, operations, and engineering, directly impacting the strategic direction and efficiency of our global infrastructure. If you have 5+ years of experience in financial planning, analysis, or strategic procurement, ideally within a technical or infrastructure-focused environment, we encourage you to apply.In this role, you'll own key financial and operational planning processes across our on-prem, cloud, and SaaS infrastructure. You'll be instrumental in translating complex technical requirements into actionable financial plans and ensuring responsible resource allocation.
 
What You'll Do:
Long-Range Planning
  • Lead the development of comprehensive capacity plans for our on-prem fleet, forecasting Power, Capital Expenditure (Capex), and Operating Expenditure (Opex) needs for critical long-lead items such as data center space, network fiber, and server equipment.
  • Establish and manage the cadence of our infrastructure planning cycles, ensuring timely and accurate inputs from various engineering teams.
  • Translate engineering roadmaps and growth projections into detailed financial forecasts and resource requirements.
Budgeting & Controllership
  • Drive the annual operating plan (AOP) process for our entire infrastructure stack, encompassing on-prem, cloud, and SaaS expenditures.
  • Collaborate closely with Accounting and FP&A teams during month-end close to conduct in-depth budget-versus-actual (BvA) analyses.
  • Identify and articulate key drivers of financial variances, providing insightful explanations and actionable recommendations to leadership.
  • Lead monthly reforecast processes, adjusting projections based on performance, operational changes, and evolving business needs.
Execution
  • Contribute to the strategic development of our technical procurement and supply chain management initiatives.
  • Conduct thorough commodity price benchmarking to inform sourcing strategies and identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Support negotiations with key vendors, helping to secure favorable terms and optimize infrastructure investments.
Who You Are:
  • 5+ years of experience in a financial planning & analysis (FP&A), corporate finance, strategic sourcing, or a similar analytical role.
  • Proven experience in a technical or infrastructure-heavy industry (e.g., cloud computing, data centers, hardware manufacturing) is highly preferred.
  • Strong analytical and financial modeling skills: You can build robust models, analyze complex datasets, and distill insights into clear, actionable recommendations.
  • Expertise in budget-versus-actual analysis and forecasting methodologies.
  • Exceptional cross-functional collaboration and communication skills: You can effectively partner with engineering, finance, accounting, and operations teams, translating technical concepts into financial terms and vice-versa.
  • Proactive, self-starter with a high degree of ownership and accountability.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with competing priorities.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with large-scale ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and financial planning tools (e.g., Anaplan, Hyperion).
  • Understanding of technical infrastructure components (e.g., servers, networking, data center operations, cloud services).
  • Familiarity with procurement best practices, vendor management, and contract negotiation.
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Economics, Engineering, or a related quantitative field.

CO, CA, IL, NY, WA, and Washington DC residents only: In accordance with CO, CA, IL, NY, WA, and Washington DC law, the range provided is The Trade Desk's reasonable estimate of the base compensation for this role. The actual amount may differ based on non-discriminatory factors such as experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, and location. All employees may be eligible to become The Trade Desk shareholders through eligibility for stock-based compensation grants, which are awarded to employees based on company and individual performance. The Trade Desk also offers other compensation depending on the role such as sales-based incentives and commissions. Plus, expected benefits for this role include comprehensive healthcare (medical, dental, and vision) with premiums paid in full for employees and dependents, retirement benefits such as a 401k plan and company match, short and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, well-being benefits, reimbursement for certain tuition expenses, parental leave, sick time of 1 hour per 30 hours worked, vacation time for full-time employees up to 120 hours thru the first year and 160 hours thereafter, and around 13 paid holidays per year.  Employees can also purchase The Trade Desk stock at a discount through The Trade Desk’s Employee Stock Purchase Plan.

At the Trade Desk, Base Salary is one part of our competitive total compensation and benefits package and is determined using a salary range. The base salary range for this role is
$76,900$141,000 USD
