Yahoo Weather is evolving from a utility app into a daily lifestyle habit. We are building a full-service weather operation and hiring a Senior Platform Editor and creative lead to define the brand's tone, look, and feel across all surfaces.

Responsibilities 

  • Serve as the primary lead editor for the brand, ensuring a consistent and premium "Yahoo Weather" voice.

  • Provide editorial assistance for creator blogs, edit/rewrite social captions, and polish scripts.

  • Point of contact for our content’s distribution throughout the Yahoo ecosystem.

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive social strategy to introduce @YahooWeather to new audiences

  • Manage the editorial calendar, balancing weather news with lifestyle features.

  • Report directly to the Editorial Director.

Basic Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in digital media, journalism, or editorial content.

  • A proven portfolio of writing

  • Extensive experience as an editor, blogger, essayist, or copywriter.

  • Prior experience managing professional business social media handles.

Preferred Responsibilities/Qualifications

  • Experience with video production a plus

  • Strong interest or expertise in weather-related content.

The compensation for this position ranges from $90,750.00 - $188,750.00/yr and will vary depending on factors such as your location, skills and experience.The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of discretionary annual bonus or commissions.
