Vast is looking for a Senior Planner, reporting to the E-2 Principal Engineer, to create the world's highest performing engine for small launchers, while optimizing for production and low cost. In this role, you will join a team with exciting momentum that has produced and successfully tested fully integrated engine development samples. You will be a key member who will help transition the system from development to production. 

This will be a full-time, exempt position located in our Hawthorne location. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Overseeing the planning and scheduling of E-2 production, ensuring it is completed on time and within budget
  • Coordinate and manage resources, including equipment, materials and personnel to optimize project efficiency and productivity
  • Serve as the lead in identifying and assessing the impact of shortages while incorporating viable and achievable work-arounds that mitigate the effect of shortages
  • Develop, manage, and maintain accurate BOM records within ERP/MES system
  • Facilitate make versus buy decisions based on business need date and resource allocation
  • Build and develop strong relationships with internal stakeholders including engineering and manufacturing
  • Develop performance measures to clearly illustrate actions, risks and opportunities

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Business or Engineering discipline
  • 5+ years experience with demand planning in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience with different manufacturing states of hardware
  • Lead scheduling discussions with multiple stakeholders and customers

Preferred Skills & Experience:

  • Significant experience working with BOMs and understands how they integrate with overall systems (ERP/MRP)
  • Demonstrated familiarity with program/project management and managing associated schedules
  • Ability to make independent judgments with limited information
  • Logical and strategic approach to solving problems
  • Comfortable working in a stress environment balancing several projects at any given time, and the flexibility to adjust for abrupt changes in strategic direction

Additional Requirements:

  • Ability to travel up to 20% of the time
  • Willingness to work evenings and/or weekends to support critical mission milestones
Salary Range: California
$95,000$138,000 USD
