The Senior Planner will oversee E-2 production planning, coordinate resources, manage BOM records, and foster stakeholder relationships.

Vast is looking for a Senior Planner, reporting to the E-2 Principal Engineer, to create the world's highest performing engine for small launchers, while optimizing for production and low cost. In this role, you will join a team with exciting momentum that has produced and successfully tested fully integrated engine development samples. You will be a key member who will help transition the system from development to production.
This will be a full-time, exempt position located in our Hawthorne location.
Responsibilities:
- Overseeing the planning and scheduling of E-2 production, ensuring it is completed on time and within budget
- Coordinate and manage resources, including equipment, materials and personnel to optimize project efficiency and productivity
- Serve as the lead in identifying and assessing the impact of shortages while incorporating viable and achievable work-arounds that mitigate the effect of shortages
- Develop, manage, and maintain accurate BOM records within ERP/MES system
- Facilitate make versus buy decisions based on business need date and resource allocation
- Build and develop strong relationships with internal stakeholders including engineering and manufacturing
- Develop performance measures to clearly illustrate actions, risks and opportunities
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Business or Engineering discipline
- 5+ years experience with demand planning in a manufacturing environment
- Experience with different manufacturing states of hardware
- Lead scheduling discussions with multiple stakeholders and customers
Preferred Skills & Experience:
- Significant experience working with BOMs and understands how they integrate with overall systems (ERP/MRP)
- Demonstrated familiarity with program/project management and managing associated schedules
- Ability to make independent judgments with limited information
- Logical and strategic approach to solving problems
- Comfortable working in a stress environment balancing several projects at any given time, and the flexibility to adjust for abrupt changes in strategic direction
Additional Requirements:
- Ability to travel up to 20% of the time
- Willingness to work evenings and/or weekends to support critical mission milestones
Salary Range: California
$95,000—$138,000 USD
