Who you are
You're a strategic visionary with a passion for forging impactful connections and driving tangible results. You thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment, embodying DealMaker's values by prioritizing speed over perfection and pushing your limits to find a way, no matter the challenge. You are relentlessly customer-obsessed, always seeking innovative and simplified solutions that drive outcomes for our partners and, ultimately, our clients. You're a proactive problem-solver with a knack for identifying untapped potential and turning it into concrete success.
What you will do
Reporting to the Director of Partnerships, you will lead the execution and growth of direct media buys across newsletters, podcasts, TV, and alternative content channels. Your core mission is to secure high-impact newsletter and content deals that significantly contribute to our team's KPIs, including Capital Raised, Return on Ad Spend, Ad Volume Processed, and Error Avoidance.
You will identify, evaluate, and negotiate new partnership opportunities, ensuring alignment with our strategic growth objectives. You'll be the primary point of contact for key partners, nurturing relationships to ensure long-term success and mutual value creation. This involves a keen eye for performance, using data to continuously optimize our partnership efforts and identify new avenues for expansion. You'll also work seamlessly with our Marketing, Strategy, and Product teams to integrate partnership initiatives and ensure a cohesive go-to-market strategy.
What skills you need
The ideal candidate must have: the ability to strategically develop and secure high-impact media partnerships that align with growth objectives and audience targeting goals. Finally, effective communication and project management skills are needed to ensure seamless execution across multiple initiatives and cross-functional teams.
Specifically, we're looking for
- Demonstrated experience (4-5+ years) in strategic partnerships, business development, or a related role within the financial newsletter or publication industry.
- Demonstrated success in identifying, negotiating, and closing complex partnership agreements with a focus on media and content.
- Exceptional negotiation and persuasion skills, with a track record of driving win-win outcomes.
- Strong analytical capabilities to interpret data, measure performance against KPIs (Capital Raised, ROAS, Ad Volume Processed, Error Avoidance), and inform strategic decisions.
- Strategic planning skills to reserve and allocate newsletter placements based on KPIs, performance trends, and customer fit—adapting quickly to rejections or changes, reallocating placements efficiently, and collaborating with the client strategy team to maximize inventory use and outcomes.
- Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- A collaborative mindset, capable of working effectively with cross-functional teams including Marketing, Sales, Product, and Legal.
- Solid project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple initiatives concurrently and deliver results.
- Strong operational acumen, with the ability to build, document, and optimize standard operating procedures (SOPs) that drive team efficiency and scalable output.
- Proven ability to source and develop new partnerships with newsletter and media publications, including identifying relevant prospects, initiating relationships, and structuring test campaigns with minimal spend to validate new channels.
