Who we are

Samsara (NYSE: IOT) is the pioneer of the Connected Operations™ Cloud, which is a platform that enables organizations that depend on physical operations to harness Internet of Things (IoT) data to develop actionable insights and improve their operations. At Samsara, we are helping improve the safety, efficiency and sustainability of the physical operations that power our global economy. Representing more than 40% of global GDP, these industries are the infrastructure of our planet, including agriculture, construction, field services, transportation, and manufacturing — and we are excited to help digitally transform their operations at scale.

Working at Samsara means you’ll help define the future of physical operations and be on a team that’s shaping an exciting array of product solutions, including Video-Based Safety, Vehicle Telematics, Apps and Driver Workflows, Equipment Monitoring, and Site Visibility. As part of a recently public company, you’ll have the autonomy and support to make an impact as we build for the long term.

About the role:

Samsara has several emerging go-to-market partner programs that have the potential to drive significant growth for the company. These include referral and resale partnerships, as well as strategic alliances with the insurance industry, fleet management companies, and technology integrators. As a Senior Partner Business Operations Analyst, you will be responsible for analyzing partner program performance and producing ad-hoc strategic insights. You will work closely with Partner Business Operations Managers and Partner Program Managers to assess the health of the business and recommend key areas of opportunity or optimization.

This is a self-starter role that requires strong cross-functional skills to build dynamic analysis and be a thought partner within the organization. The role has strong potential for growth along with our Partner Business Operations and Planning team.

This is a remote position open to candidates based in the US. Relocation assistance will not be provided for this role.

You should apply if:

  • You want to impact the industries that run our world: Your efforts will result in real-world impact—helping to keep the lights on, get food into grocery stores, and most importantly, ensure workers return home safely.
  • You have an innate curiosity about how businesses work: One day you’ll meet with someone in waste management and the next you may be learning about the inner workings of a food distribution center. Our top sales team members seek to learn the ins and outs of the businesses they support in order to make a larger impact.
  • You build genuine relationships with your customers: The industries we serve have relied on pen-and-paper solutions for years and haven’t been met with the type of technology we offer. Our customer's value earned trust and human relationships built over time.
  • You want to be with the best: Samsara’s high-performance culture means you’ll be surrounded by the best and challenged to go farther than you have before.
  • You are a team player: At Samsara, sales is a team sport. We help each other out by sharing best practices and focusing on winning as a team.

In this role, you will:

  • Measure the effectiveness of partner programs and drive a deep understanding of the health of partner business through producing reporting and insights for global QBRs, sales kickoffs, sales forecasts, growth analysis, and ad-hoc senior leadership asks
  • Drive insights from analysis into focused action through process optimization initiatives
  • Work cross-functionally to advocate for partner business reporting infrastructure across Salesforce, Databricks, and Tableau
  • Develop strategic recommendations to enhance Partner Program Manager and Partner Account Manager field activities
  • Oversee run-the-business analysis to support senior leadership decision-making on sales target setting, annual operating plan, 3-yr plan, and partner tier performance
  • Champion, role model, and embed Samsara’s cultural principles (Focus on Customer Success, Build for the Long Term, Adopt a Growth Mindset, Be Inclusive, Win as a Team) as we scale globally and across new offices

Minimum requirements for the role:

  • 4-6 years of experience in sales strategy, sales planning, business operations, or consulting
  • Stellar communication, analytical, and logical reasoning skills
  • Ability to build and test complex analytical models, forecasts, and dashboards by gathering and transforming raw enterprise data using tools like Salesforce, Excel and Tableau
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work solo and effectively manage ambiguity
  • Consistent track record of collaborating and iterating urgently with cross-functional teams and/or stakeholders

An ideal candidate also has:

  • Basic understanding of how channel or partner programs work
  • Databricks or SQL experience is a plus
  • Comfort with communicating concisely and succinctly in an executive setting
  • Sensitivity to sales cycle and able to handle complex customer/partner situations

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
