Job Description

Job Summary:

We are looking for an experienced Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) with hands-on expertise in managing Oracle databases and migrating them to AWS RDS (Relational Database Service). The ideal candidate will be responsible for database administration, performance tuning, and end-to-end migration of Oracle databases from on-premises or EC2-hosted environments to Amazon RDS.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer, monitor, and maintain Oracle databases (11g/12c/19c).

  • Plan and execute end-to-end migration of Oracle databases to Amazon RDS.

  • Design and implement database backup, recovery, and disaster recovery solutions.

  • Perform database tuning, optimization, and troubleshooting to ensure high performance and availability.

  • Manage schema changes, patching, and upgrades in a controlled and efficient manner.

  • Work closely with application, infrastructure, and DevOps teams for database-related support.

  • Implement and enforce security policies and user access controls.

  • Create and maintain documentation related to database architecture, procedures, and configurations.

 

 

Qualifications

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

  • 5+ years of experience in Oracle database administration.

  • Strong experience with Oracle RAC, ASM, RMAN, Data Pump, and OEM.

  • Proven experience in migrating Oracle databases to AWS RDS (using DMS, Data Pump, or manual methods).

  • Good understanding of AWS services (especially RDS, EC2, S3, IAM).

  • Proficiency in SQL, PL/SQL scripting and automation tools (Shell, Python preferred).

  • Experience with performance tuning and troubleshooting complex database issues.

  • Familiarity with compliance and security best practices in a cloud environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • AWS Certified Database – Specialty or AWS Solutions Architect certification.

  • Experience with multi-region RDS deployments and high availability architectures.

  • Familiarity with CI/CD processes and tools like Jenkins, Git, or Terraform for DB provisioning.
