- Evaluates customer and /operational needs to define and coordinate system performance requirements, integrate technical parameters, and assure compatibility of all physical, functional and program interfaces
- Develops the planning, organization, implementation and monitoring of requirements management processes, tools, risk, issues, opportunity management and technology readiness assessment processes
- Resolves cross-functional technical issues
- Maintains situational awareness of the overall program and critical path sequencing
- Proactively communicates with various leadership team/s, peers and customers
- Oversees reviews of regulatory and customer requirements and evaluation of impact to company products and services
- Leads the review of highly complex regulatory and certification technical data for completeness and alignment to applicable regulatory and contractual requirements
- Oversees development of a compliance statement for the airworthiness of aerospace systems and products.
- Leads system research and analysis to identify potential fleet hazards, risks, and safety concerns and quantifies impact.
- Leads identifying safety and mission assurance issue systemic root causes and recommends corrective actions using industry best practices.
- Leads collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to define, validate, and integrate safety, mission success, and airworthiness requirements; incorporates into designs, operations, and procedures.
- Leads, influences or reviews tests, analyses, inspections, audits, and simulations to verify system meets defined safety and mission assurance requirements.
- Leads creation of aerospace safety and mission assurance tools and processes.
- Leads documentation of complex safety analysis, hazard mitigation, validation and verification activities in compliance with relevant customer and regulatory safety standards.
- Develops safety plan strategies and coordinates safety and corrective action plans with programs.
- Demonstrates safety hazard risk mitigations and control methods to the customer and regulators.
- Leads ensuring mission success through execution of Mission Assurance activities throughout the program lifecycle.
- Establishes global safety advocacy strategies, training, tools, and methods.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills and Experience):
- Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
- Level 4: 9+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Level 5: 14+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- 9+ years of experience in engineering
- Experience with regulatory agencies' procedures and process
- Critical thinking, problem solving, change management, project management, influencing without authority, & consultation
- Ability to communicate concisely in writing, verbally, one-on-one, in small groups, and to large audiences
- Experience managing, developing, motivating and communicating responsibilities to team members
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills and Experience):
- Knowledge of integration, verification, and certification processes
- Knowledge of Instructions for Continued Airworthiness (ICA) and Airworthiness Directives (ADs)
- Experience in FAA certification
- Experience leading multi-disciplinary teams to meet aggressive schedules
- Experience leading or managing projects and/or teams
- Experience leading a large project or program which required the use of project management tools and processes
- Experience with the operation of aircraft systems and knowledge of aircraft performance in one or more of the following areas: aerodynamics, stability and control, propulsion, structures, and mission systems
