The Boeing CompanyOur team is hiring for a Manufacturing Engineer (Mid or Senior Level) to become part of Boeing Global Services Modification and Sustainment Engineering in Hazelwood, Missouri.
This team supports retrofit, modernization, and sustainment activities across the BGS defense portfolio, including the F-15, F/A-18, F-22, and KC-135 platforms. As part of our team, Manufacturing Engineering activities include maintenance of the drawing release schedule, product definition review, development and updates of the bill of material, development and updates to Special Manufacturing Instructions (SMI) for outside suppliers or in-house work instructions of Boeing designed components, development of tooling concepts and issuing tool orders, integration activities and operations support.
Position Responsibilities:
- Conceptualizes, designs and manages the program architecture for build and installation in support of field aircraft.
- Defines, develops and implements the manufacturing plan and represents the program as a manufacturing integrator through all phases of the product life cycle.
- Participates in or leads the development of advanced manufacturing, tooling and engineering technologies.
- Advocates and works to company Lean Enterprise analysis methods and application of lean processes and tools.
- Maintain or head the drawing release schedule.
- Participates in or leads the development and update the kit bill of material.
- Participates in or leads the development and update Special Manufacturing Instructions (SMI) for outside suppliers or in-house work instructions of Boeing designed components.
- Participates in or leads the development of tooling concepts and issue tool orders.
- Position will require some domestic travel (approximately 10%).
Basic Qualifications (minimum requirements)
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher from an accredited course of study in Engineering.
- 5+ years’ experience in manufacturing support.
- 5+ years’ experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications (e.g., blueprint/schematic reading, specification, change, design).
- 5+ years’ experience applying professional/technical writing skills, teaming successfully to solve technical issues.
Preferred Skills / Qualifications
- 9+ years' experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 9+ years’ experience in manufacturing support.
- Experience working with product definition and manufacturing environments based in CATIA and NX, Enovia, CMPro, and TeamCenter.
- Advanced Microsoft Office Suite Skills.
Typical Education & Experience:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Mid-Level - $95,400 - $116,600
Senior - $116,100 - $149,500
