What we're looking for
  • 5+ years of professional experience in business operations, business consulting, product operations, project management, sales operations

  • A history of solving complex problems quickly and independently - you know how to prioritize, figure things out, and get results

  • Strong analytical and technical skills. Excel experience is required. Experience with SQL is highly preferred.

  • A process minded approach paired with flexibility - you care about precision but can adapt when things move fast

  • Clear, confident communication. You can break down complex ideas and work easily with both technical and non-technical teammates

  • A strong sense of ownership and accountability. You move quickly, take initiative, and consistently deliver high quality work

  • A bias for action and a “no problem is too small” attitude

Bonus points for
  • You have an interest in real estate; residential real estate experience

  • Fluency in leveraging AI tools and methods for analysis and process improvement is highly recommended

  • Startup experience preferred

This role is a great fit if
  • You enjoy turning messy, ambiguous problems into clear systems and processes that actually work

  • You’re comfortable operating with limited direction and like taking ownership from idea to execution

  • You think in both numbers and narratives - able to analyze data, but also explain what it means for the business

  • You like working cross-functionally and can build strong partnerships with Product, Engineering, and Operations teams

  • You’re motivated by impact and want to see your work directly improve how a product runs and how customers experience it

  • You’re energized by change and growth - you like joining a company in motion

Not a great fit if
  • You prefer steady-state environments with fixed processes and long timelines

  • You need clearly defined instructions before taking action

  • You see your role as “support” rather than “ownership”

  • You’re uncomfortable working across different functions or switching contexts quickly

  • You value perfection over progress - you’d rather get it exactly right than get it moving

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
