Violet St is an independent footwear and apparel company founded by Luke Wood (former President of Beats by Dr. Dre and VP at Apple) and Charles Mangan (founder of TITOL, Manager of Cactus Plant Flea Market, and ex-CMO/COO of Travis Scott's Cactus Jack). The brand partners with creatives from design, music, culture, and sports – providing them their own independently designed and owned lines at scale.
After two years of signing talent, developing products, and completing an acquisition, Violet St is set to fully launch in 2025. The team includes experts from top companies in footwear, apparel, and tech, and they’re eager to continue conversations with potential collaborators or interested parties.
Position Overview
We are seeking a experienced Senior Operations Manager to architect, scale, and optimize the global operations of our multi-brand footwear and apparel platform. This role is both strategic and hands-on, requiring a deep understanding of footwear and apparel supply chains, omnichannel distribution, and shared services management. The successful candidate will bring proven expertise in scaling consumer brands from early stage to global reach, balancing entrepreneurial agility with operational rigor.
This position reports directly to executive leadership and will play a critical role in aligning operational excellence with the company’s creative and commercial vision.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic & Operational Leadership
- Define and execute long-term operational strategies to improve productivity, reduce costs, and elevate quality across the global supply chain.
- Build frameworks that enable early-stage brands to scale efficiently while preserving creativity and brand identity.
- Oversee shared services for S&OP, analytics, supply chain, IT, and logistics, serving as a backbone across multiple brands.
Supply Chain, Sourcing & Fulfillment
- Lead vendor management and production strategies with strong emphasis on footwear, apparel, and accessories.
- Optimize forecasting, planning, and inventory management to ensure on-time delivery, reduced lead times, and cost efficiency.
- Manage domestic and international freight, customs, 3PLs, and fulfillment centers.
- Ensure sustainability, compliance, and quality standards are consistently met.
Technology & Systems
- Oversee ERP (NetSuite) and planning tools, ensuring data integrity and operational continuity.
- Implement advanced analytics, BI dashboards, and reporting systems to support decision-making.
- Drive IT infrastructure development to support omnichannel growth.
Cross-Functional & Brand Collaboration
- Partner with Product, Marketing, Finance, and Commercial leaders to translate brand vision into operational execution.
- Build alignment between group-level governance and brand-level entrepreneurial needs.
- Create and manage reporting structures that keep senior leadership informed with actionable insights.
Team & Organizational Development
- Establish shared services that allow creative and commercial teams to focus on growth while maintaining operational excellence.
- Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and results-driven execution.
Governance, Finance & Risk Management
- Ensure compliance with corporate guidelines, regulatory requirements, and industry standards.
- Partner with Finance to align operational plans with financial discipline, budgeting, and reporting.
- Proactively assess and mitigate risks related to supply chain disruptions, vendor reliability, and global compliance.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related field required
- Experience:
- 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in operations within consumer brands (footwear, apparel, or lifestyle strongly preferred).
- Apparel or footwear industry experience.
- Proven track record in scaling operations from startup through growth and maturity preferred.
- Extensive experience managing global sourcing, vendor partnerships, freight, customs, and distribution across multiple channels (Retail, eCommerce, Wholesale, Distributor).
- Demonstrated success in designing and leading shared service organizations preferred.
- Skills:
- Advanced analytical and technical expertise, including ERP (NetSuite), forecasting, planning, and BI platforms.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational design capabilities.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to balance long-term vision and near-term execution.
- Exceptional ability to collaborate with creative and commercial teams.
