Cerebras Systems builds the world's largest AI chip, 56 times larger than GPUs. This architecture allows Cerebras to deliver industry-leading training and inference speeds; over 10 times faster than GPU-based hyperscale cloud inference services.
This order of magnitude increase in speed is transforming the user experience of AI applications, unlocking real-time iteration and increasing intelligence via additional agentic computation.
Cerebras works with the leading model labs, global enterprises, and cutting-edge AI-native startups. OpenAI recently announced a multi-year partnership with Cerebras, to deploy 750 megawatts of scale, transforming key workloads with ultra high-speed inference.

About the Role

The Senior Operations Accountant will support the monthly close and financial reporting for Cerebras's inventory, manufacturing cost, and global lease portfolios. · Calculate and account for inventory rebates, wafer manufacturing yield losses, manufacturing and facilities allocations, freight, tariffs, and other inventory-related costs in accordance with company policy.

· Monitor inventory classification across raw materials, work in process, and finished goods, including inventory held at contract manufacturers and other third-party locations.

· Analyze inventory movements, cost changes, manufacturing variances, yield, scrap, and excess and obsolete inventory; partner with Operations and Supply Chain to investigate and resolve issues.

· Support inventory reserve, write-off, and disposition analyses, as well as physical inventory counts and related audit documentation.

Lease Accounting

· Execute monthly accounting for Cerebras's global data center and office lease portfolio under ASC 842, including journal entries, reconciliations, rollforwards, payment schedules, and flux analysis.

· Support the review of new, modified, and terminated lease arrangements and coordinate accounting conclusions with the Lease Accounting Manager and Technical Accounting.

· Maintain lease population completeness by partnering with Facilities, Procurement, Legal, and Accounts Payable to identify new agreements, amendments, terminations, and payment changes.

· Prepare quarter-end lease schedules and support financial statement disclosures and the SEC reporting process.

Audit Controls and Business Partnership

· Prepare schedules and supporting documentation for internal and external audit requests related to inventory, manufacturing cost, and lease accounting.

· Maintain process documentation and control evidence for key inventory and lease close activities.

· Partner with cross-functional teams to improve upstream data quality, resolve transaction issues, and explain financial statement impacts clearly.

· Improve and automate recurring processes, including the responsible use of AI-enabled tools, while maintaining appropriate review and control procedures.

Qualifications

· Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

· Four or more years of progressive accounting experience; experience in manufacturing, semiconductor, hardware, or infrastructure-intensive environments is preferred.

· Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, including inventory valuation and costing under ASC 330 and lease accounting under ASC 842.

· CPA or CMA certification is preferred.

· Strong NetSuite and Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookups, and data modeling; experience with Power Query, lease accounting systems, or similar automation tools is a plus.

· Ability to analyze large and sometimes unstructured datasets, document conclusions, manage competing priorities, and meet close deadlines.

· Clear written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work effectively with finance and operational stakeholders.

Additional Information

· Location: Sunnyvale, California, with three days per week in the office.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
