The Senior Network Engineer will be responsible for crafting, implementing, and monitoring all IT infrastructure and related network services. This will be a tactical resource and will ensure our network is highly available to the global workforce. This position will partner with other functions within the IT Department such as Cybersecurity and Business Application Teams. Additionally, they will support business operations and keep all Shockwave Medical infrastructure including, servers, network, security appliances, telephony, to ensure data is available 24x7.Essential Job Functions- Develop and deploys unique client LANs, WANs, including servers, routers, switches, SD-WAN Technology, UPS, and other hardware.
- Experience deploying and maintaining Windows Servers and Linux devices.
- Hands on experience with Cisco Meraki, Cisco Catalyst switches, Palo Alto Firewalls, VMware, and other networking software features and functionality.
- Complex Routing and Switching Network designs and configuring routing and switching devices, specifically for Cisco Meraki, Cisco, Palo Alto Firewalls, and associated network devices.
- Capable of leading high level and low-level design consultations with supporting IT business units to capture goals and requirements and build advanced network architectures optimized to project goals and industry best practices.
- Configure networks to ensure smooth and reliable operation for fulfilling business objectives and processes.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues across the network platforms and escalate to third level support when necessary.
- Build and maintain documentation and technical specification information as it relates to network configuration, network mapping, processes, and service records.
- Implement and maintain policies, procedures and associated training plans for network administration, usage, and disaster recovery.
- Interact with vendors, outsourcers and contractors to secure network products and services.
- Conduct research on network products, services, protocols, and standards to remain abreast of developments in the networking industry.
- Bachelor’s or associate degree with at least 5 years of hands on networking hardware, software, and firewall experience. In lieu of a degree a candidate must have 10 total years of experience in IT Infrastructure.
- Must have experience managing Cisco switches, Cisco Meraki, Palo Alto, VMware technologies.
- Must have experience with physical on-prem storage devices and the associated hardware and software components.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to troubleshoot technical problems.
- Previous experience in Medical Device or Healthcare setting, preferred.
- Must be a quick and adaptable learner and willing to handle some non-standard hours to conduct system maintenance or emergencies.
The anticipated base pay range for this position is :
$89,000-$142,600Additional Description for Pay Transparency:
The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation’s performance over a calendar/performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company’s discretion on an individual basis.
