The NetSuite Senior Administrator / Solution Architect is responsible for the day-to-day administration, configuration, and architectural design of the NetSuite ERP platform, ensuring alignment with financial, operational, and enterprise business requirements. This role serves as the primary NetSuite expert and trusted partner to the CFO organization, supporting stakeholders from executive leadership to day-to-day accounting users. 
The position leads NetSuite solution design and optimization across core financial modules, ensuring scalable architecture, strong governance, and seamless integration with related enterprise systems. Close collaboration with Finance, IT, and Enterprise Applications teams is essential to deliver reliable, compliant, and efficient financial systems.

Essential Functions

  • Architectural Leadership 
  • Define and maintain the overall NetSuite architecture for both current operations and future initiatives, ensuring scalability, performance, and best practices. 
  • Serve as the primary functional and technical point of contact for NetSuite-related initiatives and enhancements. 
  • Provide architectural guidance for financial system design, integrations, and process improvements. 
  • Solution Design & Configuration 
  • Lead the design, configuration, and optimization of NetSuite across core modules including General Ledger (GL), Accounts Receivable (AR), Accounts Payable (AP), and SuiteBilling. 
  • Translate finance and accounting requirements into scalable NetSuite configurations that support business growth and compliance. 
  • Design and support integrations with other enterprise platforms using best-practice methodologies. 
  • Stakeholder Collaboration 
  • Partner closely with the CFO organization, including the CFO, VP Finance, Controller, and accounting teams, to understand business needs and system pain points. 
  • Facilitate solution design sessions, document requirements, and lead system and process discussions. 
  • Act as a trusted advisor to finance leadership on NetSuite capabilities and roadmap decisions. 
  • Administration, Customization & Oversight 
  • Perform hands-on NetSuite administration including workflows, saved searches, custom fields, forms, roles, dashboards, and approval processes. 
  • Review, implement, and govern NetSuite configuration changes to ensure consistency and data integrity. 
  • Oversee testing, deployment, and documentation of NetSuite enhancements and releases. 
  • Data Governance & Financial Controls 
  • Ensure strong data governance, auditability, and compliance within NetSuite. 
  • Support financial controls, audit requests, and reporting requirements. 
  • Design reporting, dashboards, and analytics to support financial and operational decision-making. 
  • System Optimization & Support 
  • Proactively monitor NetSuite performance and usability, identifying opportunities for automation and efficiency. 
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex NetSuite issues impacting finance and operations. 
  • Ensure system reliability and alignment with enterprise application standards. 
  • Continuous Learning 
  • Stay current with NetSuite releases, features, and industry best practices. 
  • Participate in NetSuite communities, forums, and professional development opportunities. 
  • Security and Compliance 
  • Maintain knowledge of NetSuite security models, role-based access, and best practices for data protection. 
  • Ensure compliance with applicable financial, regulatory, and internal governance requirements. 
  • Documentation & Governance 
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive system documentation, including configurations, workflows, integrations, and best practices. 
  • Establish and enforce governance processes for ongoing NetSuite maintenance and enhancements. 
  • Supervisory Responsibilities 
  • This position may provide guidance and mentoring to junior administrators or analysts supporting NetSuite and related financial systems. 
  •  Carry out additional responsibilities as assigned based on business needs.

Minimum Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree in Information Systems, Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field 
  • 10+ years of professional experience supporting ERP or financial systems 
  • 7+ years of hands-on NetSuite administration experience 
  • Strong functional expertise in GL, AR, AP, and SuiteBilling 
  • Demonstrated experience configuring NetSuite workflows, saved searches, roles, and financial processes 
  • Strong understanding of accounting operations and financial reporting 
  • Experience partnering with senior finance leadership 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills 
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities 
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills 
  • Ability to gather requirements from multiple stakeholders and translate them into well-defined solutions 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Celigo integrations involving NetSuite 
  • Experience supporting Salesforce ↔ NetSuite integrations 
  • Familiarity with Fintastic or advanced NetSuite financial reporting tools 
  • NetSuite certifications (Administrator, ERP Consultant, or similar) 
  • Experience supporting SaaS, subscription billing, or revenue recognition models 
  • Experience with large-scale system implementations, integrations, or finance transformations 

Work Environment/Physical Demands

  • General home office environment: 
  • Long-distance or air travel as needed – not to exceed 25% travel.   
  • Periods of stress may occur. 
  • Activities require a significant amount of sitting at office and work desks and in front of a computer monitor.
