We’re looking for a talented senior-level motion designer who is open to freelance and ongoing project-based work. This is a good match if you have a sharp design eye, strong command of typography, and a passion for bringing complex ideas to life through motion. You will collaborate with our team to create crisp, compelling visual narratives that communicate the value of brands, products, and services.

You will help us bring our innovative technology to life—across product prototypes, social/ads content, marketing demos, and sales campaigns.

The Work

  • Product prototyping & UI motion: Microinteractions, feature demos, motion studies, and conceptual flows for new AI features

  • Marketing & brand storytelling: Website demos, product explainers, and short marketing videos

  • Performance & social content: Motion assets for paid campaigns, banner ads, and social media storytelling

  • Design systems in motion: Helping extend our brand’s motion language, typography, and visual identity with animation in our websites and pitch decks

Your Experience

  • 5+ years of experience in motion design, visual design, or a related creative field

  • A refined design sensibility with exceptional taste—especially in typography, layout, pacing, and visual hierarchy

  • Strong portfolio showing polished, thoughtful motion work across digital platforms (product, social, marketing)

  • Ability to simplify complex concepts and communicate them through motion

  • Proficiency in industry-standard tools (After Effects, Figma, Illustrator, Premiere; Cinema 4D or Blender a plus)

  • Comfort working in rapid prototyping mode—exploring concepts quickly and iterating with cross-functional partners

  • Experience aligning motion to brand identity and scaling creative systems

  • Organized, communicative, and reliable in a remote-first environment

Additional Helpful Experience

  • Experience working with or visualizing AI, data, or technical products

  • 3D motion design and/or light rendering skills

  • Audio editing or light sound design capabilities

What You Can Expect From Us

  • Clear briefs, close collaboration, and flexibility in creative exploration

  • Opportunities to shape the motion language of an emerging AI brand

  • A mix of conceptual product work and polished marketing execution

Compensation

  • The compensation for projects will be hourly based and competitive and commensurate with experience. The estimated hourly range is $100 - $120 USD.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
