Join us on our mission to empower more people to find their way home by breaking barriers to entry, making the right connections, and building confidence through expert guidance.
We’re looking for a Senior Motion Designer & Animator to join our in-house creative team and help modernize Realtor.com’s brand through distinctive, emotion-driven motion work.
You’re a concept-to-completion storyteller—part visual strategist, part technical animator, and all in on the details. Whether it’s a national broadcast spot or an in-app product moment, you know how to turn static assets into surprisingly delightful stories that connect and convert.
You’ll be a key player on a nimble creative team that’s setting new standards for how our brand moves. You’ll collaborate closely with design, copy, product, and marketing partners, and report directly to the Creative Director, Design.
Why now?
Realtor.com is entering its boldest creative era yet—with new leadership, a new Austin HQ, and a clear mission: help people feel confident in one of life’s biggest decisions.
We’ve launched a national brand campaign featuring Reba McEntire. We’ve rebuilt our team with talent from Tesla, YETI, and OJO Labs. And we’re partnering with GSD&M to push the work further, faster.
This role supports both B2C and B2B storytelling—powering consumer campaigns seen by millions, and creating high-impact content for the largest real estate industry events in the country. From product launches to partner activations, you’ll help us show up with confidence and craft in front of the top agents, brokers, and builders in the U.S.
What you’ll do:
For the work:
- Design and animate video and motion assets for brand campaigns, performance marketing, product UX, and social
- Develop storyboards, animatics, and creative briefs that bring ideas to life from pitch to production
- Collaborate with designers, writers, and strategists to elevate ideas with motion
- Build motion for a range of environments—including broadcast, digital, in-product, and interactive formats like micro-interactions and Lottie-based animations
- Help define and evolve the motion language of Realtor.com—not just executing work, but setting the standard for how motion shows up in our brand
- Work with performance and media teams to understand how motion impacts results and iterate for impact
For the team:
- Serve as a creative thought partner across product, brand, and media—bringing visual problem-solving into UI reviews, partner work, and key launches
- Own project pacing and planning: provide clear time estimates, manage scope changes, and keep stakeholders aligned
- Share emerging techniques, tools, and motion trends with the broader design team
- Help shape team culture by modeling positivity, urgency, and a collaborative spirit
- Improve workflows and delivery processes—ensuring clean file management, consistent systems, and clear handoffs
How We Work:
We balance creativity and innovation on a foundation of in-person collaboration. For most roles, our employees work three or more days in our offices, where they have the opportunity to collaborate in-person, adding richness to our culture and knitting us closer together.
What you bring:
- 5+ years of experience in an in-house studio or creative agency
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- A portfolio that blends craft, creativity, and clarity of communication
- Expertise in After Effects, Premiere, and motion design tools
- Strong storytelling and timing instincts—whether for a 6s pre-roll or 60s TV spot
- Experience building toolkits and design systems that scale
- Experience working in Figma and with web/product design teams
- A high degree of creative autonomy—you know when to go off-brief and when to stick to the fundamentals
- Solid organizational habits for delivering assets cleanly and consistently across systems (e.g., Asana, folder structures, handoff protocols)
- A collaborative, self-starting spirit and a high bar for creative output
Bonus points for:
- Generative AI tools
- Lottie / Bodymovin
- Cinema 4D or other 3D tools
- Automation and programmatic animation
What success looks like
- You help evolve our motion standards across platforms and campaigns
- Your work makes people stop, feel, and act
- You push ideas and tools forward—and bring others with you
- You make our brand move with meaning, not just motion
