Position Summary

We’re looking for an organized, proactive, and collaborative event lead to drive strategy and execution across key moments in the buyer journey. You’ll own the strategy, planning, and logistics for conferences, Cylinder-hosted events, webinars, and more—helping us reach new employers and health plans, build trust with partners, and convert awareness into action. You’ll report into our Content Marketing Manager and be a core part of the Growth Marketing team, working cross-functionally to create experiences that spark interest, build trust, and move opportunities forward. You’ll collaborate with sales, client success, public relations, and leadership to bring high-impact events to life. From pre-show campaigns to real-time support and post-event reporting, you’ll help us create standout experiences that reflect our mission and move the needle.

Responsibilities Include:

Event Leadership

  • Own the end-to-end planning and execution of Cylinder’s presence at conferences and events—from initial research and outreach to booth logistics, lead capture, and ROI reporting.

  • Manage a calendar of Cylinder-hosted events and webinars, including scheduling, speaker coordination, promotion, planning, and follow-up.

  • Represent Cylinder on-site at key events to oversee setup, troubleshoot in real time, support attendees, and ensure brand excellence.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Support the creation of event-specific content—including email invites, landing pages, signage, social posts, and post-event follow-up materials—in partnership with content, design, external vendors, and comms teams.

  • Coordinate with our SDR and sales teams to drive pre-event prospecting, in-person engagement, and post-event follow-up that converts interest into pipeline.

  • Collaborate with sales, client success, public relations, and leadership to bring high-impact events to life.

Operational Excellence

  • Build and manage timelines, budgets, and cross-functional task lists to ensure every event runs smoothly.

  • Track event performance and generate insights to inform future strategy.

  • Collaborate remotely and communicate clearly across stakeholders, including execs, sales, and external vendors.

Qualifications

  • 4–6 years of professional experience in event coordination, marketing, or a similar field.

  • Strong organizational and communication skills.

  • Comfortable managing timelines, vendors, and budgets across multiple events at once.

  • Familiarity with tools like Zoom, ClickUp, Google Workspace, Salesforce, or similar.

  • Experience with B2B marketing or health care is a plus, but not required.

You'll be a good fit here if you are:

  • A strong project manager who brings both big-picture structure and sharp attention to detail pulling the pieces together and jumping in wherever needed to keep things moving.

  • Flexible, adaptable, and ready to pivot plans when a speaker cancels, a shipment gets delayed, or the venue switches layouts.

  • Energized by creating memorable, thoughtful brand experiences—and thinking ahead to what will resonate with our audience.

  • Interested in health care, marketing, and storytelling—and want to be part of a mission-driven team that moves fast and thinks big.

  • Proactive and self-directed, with the ability to take ownership and drive projects from concept to completion.

  • Confident working with data and reporting to inform decisions and demonstrate impact.

Cylinder is an equal opportunity employer. We believe safe spaces where everyone can be their authentic selves is the key to a successful team so we welcome and embrace all identities, cultures, and backgrounds.

Compensation Range: $70K - $85K

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
