How we work

This role follows a hybrid model (3 days in-office) with locations in Tempe, AZ, New York, NY, or Mountain View, CA. You’ll get the best of both worlds: creative in-person collaboration and the flexibility to focus when you need it.

About the role

Gen is home to some of the most recognized names in consumer cybersecurity, including Norton and LifeLock. We’re looking for a Senior Growth Content Strategist to shape how millions of customers engage and convert on our sites by elevating the voice, storytelling, and performance of every interaction.

This isn’t only about writing; it’s about designing content strategies that fuel acquisition, drive performance, build trust, and convert into action. You’ll bring creativity, experimentation, data-driven insight and a deep understanding of digital behavior to help scale Gen’s digital presence into a best-in-class growth engine.

Objectives

  • Lead growth content strategy: Own the editorial and messaging approach for some of Gen’s acquisition channels, ensuring every word drives clarity, trust, and conversion.
  • Create high-converting copy: Write and edit compelling content for landing pages, product launches, special campaigns, and evergreen site experiences that generate traffic and customer acquisition across brands like Norton and LifeLock.
  • Drive performance with data: Partner with SEO, growth marketing, and analytics teams to design content that ranks, performs, and converts across global audiences.
  • Experiment and optimize: Run A/B tests and content experiments, using insights to refine messaging, CTAs, and user journeys for measurable impact.
  • Collaborate for impact: Work closely with project managers, designers, and marketers to deliver content that aligns with both customer needs and business goals.
  • Champion the brand voice: Ensure all acquisition content reflects the trusted, approachable, and innovative identity of Gen and its portfolio of brands.
  • Stay ahead of trends: Monitor digital safety, consumer behavior, and content best practices to keep our storytelling effective and competitive.

Competencies

  • 5+ years of experience in digital content strategy, with a strong focus on acquisition and growth content.
  • A portfolio that showcases high-performing work across websites, landing pages, and product launches.
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills with the ability to adapt tone and style across acquisition funnels and audiences.
  • Proven expertise in growth strategies, performance metrics, and testing methodologies.
  • A strategic mindset paired with hands-on execution: you want to design the strategy and roll up your sleeves to deliver.
  • Comfort working in fast-paced environments, managing multiple priorities, and collaborating across global teams.
  • Familiarity with AI-driven content tools and how to integrate them into acquisition workflows.
  • Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Journalism, or related field (or equivalent experience).

Benefits

At Gen, we invest in your growth and well-being. For U.S. team members, our benefits include:

  • Health and wellness: Medical, dental, and vision insurance.
  • Financial security: 401(k) with company contributions, Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
  • Work-life balance: Unlimited PTO.
  • Professional growth: Annual education reimbursement.
  • Wellness perks: Reimbursement for fitness-related expenses.
  • Additional support: Commuter accounts, legal assistance, family support, and employee discounts.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
