Build a brilliant future with Hiscox

We are looking for a Senior Analyst, Marketing Analytics & Insights to join our Marketing team. In this role, you'll be a key part of the Marketing team, owning the reporting and insights function to drive marketing performance analyses. You will be at the forefront of the company's data-driven marketing efforts, using data to inform and improve marketing strategies in partnership with channel leads, product, and finance. This role is crucial for shaping marketing strategy by analyzing performance across various channels, identifying trends, and uncovering opportunities for growth.
Core Responsibilities:

  • Performance Analysis & Insights: Analyze digital marketing performance across multiple channels, such as Paid Search, Paid Social, Affiliate, and Programmatic. Conduct deep-dive, ad-hoc analyses to evaluate paid media effectiveness and identify performance drivers. Translate insights from Marketing-mix modeling and multi-touch attribution models into actionable strategies that improve ROI and guide budget reallocations, in collaboration with Data Science.

  • Implement Google Analytics and integrate business performance metrics on key new websites to provide a holistic view of channel performance.

  • Reporting & Visualization: Maintain data visualization dashboards and reports that track key metrics and KPIs. You will also streamline reporting processes to surface real-time insights that improve channel performance.

  • Performance Analytics: Drive day-to-day analysis of performance marketing campaigns (e.g., CPA) to ensure ROI and lead quality.

  • Competitive Intelligence: Conduct research on industry trends, carrier appetites, and competitor strategies to inform messaging and product development.

  • Reporting & Insights: Translate complex data into actionable insights and executive presentations to guide business strategies.

  • Submission Management: Oversee the quote/rating process for new and renewal business, ensuring all data is captured and reported, identifying trends and forecasting.

  • Strategy & Optimization: Translate insights from various data sources into actionable strategies that improve ROI and guide budget reallocations.

  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with marketing, product, and engineering teams to implement robust tracking and attribution mechanisms. Partner with finance and channel leads to forecast spend, guide investment decisions, and ensure budget alignment across channels.

  • Operational Excellence: Manage key marketing platforms (e.g. Google Analytics) to ensure data integrity and process efficiency. You will also support campaign operations, including budget optimization and allocation.

Role Requirements:

Must Have:

  • Proven experience in marketing analytics and performance analysis, with hands-on ownership of insights across paid digital channels such as Paid Search, Paid Social, Affiliate, and Programmatic.

  • Strong ability to conduct deep-dive and ad-hoc analyses to evaluate campaign effectiveness, identify performance drivers, and uncover opportunities for growth.

  • Demonstrated experience translating outputs from marketing-mix modeling and/or multi-touch attribution into clear, actionable recommendations that inform ROI improvement and budget reallocation decisions, in partnership with data science and channel leaders.

  • Hands-on expertise with Google Analytics, including implementation, ongoing management, and integration of marketing and business performance metrics to deliver a holistic view of channel performance.

  • Experience owning and maintaining dashboards, reports, and data visualizations that track KPIs and surface timely, decision-ready insights for stakeholders.

  • Strong cross-functional collaboration skills, with experience partnering closely with marketing, product, engineering, finance, and channel leads to align analytics with strategic and operational goals.

  • Ability to operate with a high degree of analytical rigor and data integrity, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and reliability across marketing platforms and reporting processes.

  • Clear, confident communicator who can influence decision-making by translating complex analyses into concise, compelling insights for senior stakeholders.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience supporting marketing spend forecasting, budget optimization, and allocation, including informing investment trade-offs across channels.

  • Prior experience streamlining or automating reporting processes to improve efficiency and enable near real-time performance visibility.

  • Comfort operating as an insights owner, proactively identifying trends, asking strategic questions, and shaping marketing direction rather than responding solely to inbound requests.

  • Experience working in a fast-paced, performance-driven marketing environment with multiple stakeholders and competing priorities.

At Hiscox our spirit is in Challenging Convention and everything we do is guided by our Values.

  • Courage: Dare to take a risk

  • Ownership: Passionate, commercial and accountable

  • Integrity: Do the right thing, however hard

  • Connected: Together, build something better

  • Human: Clear, fair and inclusive

**Please note that this position is hybrid and requires two (2) days in our office weekly**

Salary Range: $100-$125k

The actual salary for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment.

About Hiscox:

As an international specialist insurer, we are far removed from the world of mass market insurance products. Instead, we are selective and focus on our key areas of expertise and strength - all of which is underpinned by a culture that encourages us to challenge convention and always look for a better way of doing things.

We insure the unique and the interesting. And we search for the same when it comes to talented people. Hiscox is full of smart, reliable human beings that look out for customers and each other. We believe in doing the right thing, making good and rebuilding when things go wrong. Everyone is encouraged to think creatively, challenge the status quo and look for solutions.

Scratch beneath the surface and you will find a business that is solid, but slightly contrary. We like to do things differently and constantly seek to evolve. We might have been around for a long time (our roots go back to 1901), but we are young in many ways, ambitious and going places.

Some people might say insurance is dull, but life at Hiscox is anything but. If that sounds good to you, get in touch.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
