The candidate will take the lead to plan, track, analyze and report on project schedules of varying size and complexity. The Senior Fabrication Planner will provide key support to project and program management efforts, monitoring workflow, coordinating, and tracking schedule, and identifying key project delivery risks and issues. The selected candidate will develop schedules to meet requirements in support of Customer Contracts. The candidate will interact daily with program management team members (Project Managers, Program Managers, Craft Managers, Safety, and Quality Dept.), and employees.

Full-Time Salary Range: $73778 - $125422
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.

Responsibilities
- Interpret Engineering / Design plan requirements to develop detailed work instructions for fitting and welding fabrication
- Determine manufacturing process steps required to attain optimal workflow through all machining, assembly, welding, and quality control work center operations, including making recommendations for the purchase of tools and equipment to improve efficiency
- Develop document templates to standardize policies, Work Instructions, and other document formats. Ensure document content includes compliance requirements, best practices, and procedural instructions for a wide variety of production operations activities
- Ability to read and interpret blueprint drawings
- Ability to understand and translate site capabilities
- Incorporate engineering changes
- Convert work packages to a high-level schedule to oversee the workflow of the production and fabrication efforts.
- Establish sequence and lead time of each operation to meet completion dates according to production forecasts or customer work specifications and drawing orders
- Monitor production capacity and identify potential bottlenecks or constraints, collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement solutions
- Analyze and address production issues in a timely manner
- Escalate Long Lead Time Material issues and assist with developing appropriate corrective actions.
- Track lessons learned during execution to apply in future iterations
- Evaluate equipment and tools needed to optimize ergonomics for employees
- Ensure that requirements of the safety handbook are properly followed and enforced
Required Education, Experience, & Skills • Required Education, Experience, & Skills
- Heavy background in construction, fabrication, packaging, outfitting of sub-assemblies, and major units of manufacturing work.
- Strong ability to read, write, and support the execution of manufacturing planning packages.
- Strong understanding of welding procedures and fabrication design
- Proficiency in reading fabrication blueprints, drawings, and other shipbuilding technical references.
- Deep understanding of quality and accuracy control
- Problem solving skills
- Ability to effectively communicate with managers and employees at all levels, both orally and written, including writing white papers and presentations as needed
- Experience applying lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies
- Must have strong written and oral communication skills.
- Must be proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook & PowerPoint).
- Must have strong Microsoft Excel skills.
- Ability to work in a fast paced, high-volume production environment.
- Must be physically and medically qualified to wear required personal protective equipment.
