Job Overview:

This position reports to Senior Director, Strategic Sourcing – G&A and is part of the Sourcing department which supports all source-to-pay activities across SMPA.  The Senior Manager, Strategic Sourcing- G&A is responsible for leading strategic sourcing and category management initiatives across corporate G&A spend, partnering closely with business stakeholders.

This role requires an experienced sourcing leader who can act as a proactive advisor to the business, bringing deep insight into supply markets, supplier models, and cost drivers. This role will drive disciplined execution of best-in-class sourcing practices while influencing stakeholders to achieve optimal outcomes.

The Senior Manager will also play a key role in a major source-to-pay transformation, serving as a change agent by guiding stakeholders through new policies, processes, and tools. This includes providing training and ongoing support while ensuring alignment with the long-term strategy and evolution of the Sourcing function.

Essential Functions Required for Job

  • Manage strategic sourcing activities across G&A categories including but not limited to fleet, facilities, contingent labor, HR services, financial services and other professional/corporate services.
  • Develop and implement category strategies that align with functional goals; leverage strategic sourcing levers to drive efficiencies/savings, optimize cost structures, mitigate risks, and deliver innovation.
  • Collaborate with business partners on supplier management strategies that enable sustainable competitive advantage, mitigate financial and operational risk, and maintain optimal supplier performance levels.  Negotiate service level agreements, develop supplier performance improvement plans, facilitate supplier business reviews.
  • Generate sourcing insights utilizing spend analytics, industry intel and benchmarking data.
  • Lead end-to-end competitive sourcing activities (RFx) in collaboration with key stakeholders.  Activities include bid list generation, development of requirements, drafting RFx documents, facilitation of meetings and supplier presentations, supplier selection criteria/weighting, negotiations with bidders, cost analysis, business case, award notifications, and contract negotiations with awarded supplier. Utilize Coupa Sourcing platform for RFx events.
  • Maintain sourcing practices that are in accordance with corporate ethics, financial policy, and internal control requirements.
  • Pursue ongoing development of relevant skills; including learning agility, using data to provide insights, business partnering, change and project management, strategic sourcing, company approved AI tools, and industry-specific resources for categories under management.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (general & technical):

  • Technology: Proficient with common sourcing platforms including contract lifecycle management, e-sourcing, spend analytics, and supplier risk management.  A strong desire and innate capability to learn.  Familiarity with Coupa a plus. Must be proficient with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, TEAMS)
  • Leadership: Effectively lead cross-functional teams, excellent written/ verbal/ presentation skills, strong negotiation skills, interpersonal skills, problem solving, effectively communicate/ influence/ manage change, anticipate and respond to change with ease and agility, seek solutions to strengthen quality/ value/ service/ efficiency.

Education & Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain, finance, or a related field required; advanced degree (MBA or MS) preferred.
  • 6+ years of relevant experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, or category management, preferably within the biotech or pharmaceutical industry.
  • Demonstrated experience in:
    • Managing sourcing initiatives across G&A categories such as contingent labor, HR services, facilities, corporate services, and fleet.
    • Leading end-to-end sourcing activities, including RFx execution, supplier selection, and contract negotiations; as well as supplier performance management.
    • Developing and executing category strategies that drive value to the business.
    • Utilizing spend analytics platforms to generate reports and drive insights
  • Proficient with contract lifecycle management systems a must (preferably Coupa).  Familiarity with other source-to-pay system modules for purchasing, invoicing, supplier onboarding, and reporting.

The base salary range for this role is

$154,700.00 - $193,400.00

Base salary is part of our total rewards package which also includes the opportunity for merit-based salary increases, short incentive plan participation, eligibility for our 401(k) plan, medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurances and leaves provided in line with your work state.  Our robust time-off policy includes flexible paid time off, 11 paid holidays plus additional time off for a shut-down period during the last week of December, 80 hours of paid sick time upon hire and each year thereafter.  Total compensation, including base salary to be offered, will depend on elements unique to each candidate, including candidate experience, skills, education and other factors permitted by law.

Mental/Physical Requirements:

Fast-paced environment handling multiple demands is involved. Must be able to exercise appropriate judgment as necessary. Requires a high level of initiative and independence. Excellent written and oral communication skills required. Requires ability to use a personal computer for extended periods of time.

Travel Requirements:

Primarily remote role with periodic on-site meetings in office. Must be able to travel domestically and internationally as needed.
