Senior Manager, Software Engineering

Overview: This is a fast-paced management position in one of ComplexCare Solutions’ (CCS) most critical Product areas and Analytics. The Senior Manager, Software Engineering requires strong technical capabilities plus an instinctive, problem-solving mentality and experience conceptualizing and creating out-of-the-box solutions. Working in an Agile environment with large datasets and advanced analytics, this position is engaged in continuous optimization and refactoring and promoting an upbeat and effective team environment within the fast-growing IT Healthcare Informatics industry.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Lead the design, development and deployment of CCS’s Cloud-based Product Platform in accordance with CCS’s agile development methodology.
• Develop and maintain an expert level of knowledge regarding products and services of CCS to achieve product development and functionality requirements.
• Manage and coordinate on-shore and off-shore staff required for the achievement of CCS’s technology initiatives, operations and functionality.
• Successfully drive implementation of technical solutions, ensuring that best practices for architecture, design and development are in place.
• Provide oversight of assigned technology team, adherence to development timelines and accountability to product designer technical specification needs.
• Implement a well-designed plan with clear, realistic objectives which deliver on customer commitments as set forth by the business development and product teams.
• Allocate team members and resources effectively and act as a buffer between the team and distracting influences, removing impediments to the ability of the team to deliver each sprint’s goal.
• Provide input to employee goals, reviews and ranking exercises and actively mentor engineers.
• Maintain high level of quality and performance in a massively parallel processing (MPP) architecture.
• Maintain compliance with CCS’s policies, procedures and mission statement.
• Adhere to all confidentiality and HIPAA requirements as outlined within CCS’s Operating Policies and Procedures in all ways and at all times with respect to any aspect of the data handled or services rendered in the undertaking of the position.

Job Requirements:

• 10+ years of experience in an IT development organization, with some experience in management capacity.
• Must have experience operating in a lead role on successful deployment of applications.
• Must have a solid understanding of Azure Cloud based System Architecture and MPP application development and recent relevant work experience.
• Must have detailed knowledge of key components of product design, code and process optimizations that enable significant improvements in performance, scalability, security, reliability and maintainability.
• Must be a methodical and pragmatic problem-solver who inspires confidence and trust with internal staff and users.
• Must have a strong sense of teamwork, active listening skills and negotiation and influencing skills.
• Should have experience using TFS and leading agile development teams.
• Experience with health care clinical and claims data and the associated regulatory environment a plus.
• Experience with web-based applications preferred.
• Experience managing offshore resources preferred.
• Experience in Scrum Management preferred.

Education:

• BS degree in computer sciences, software design, engineering, information systems, related field or equivalent work experience.

• Sedentary work (i.e., sitting for long periods of time).
• Frequently or constantly to lift, carry push, pull or otherwise move objects and repetitive motions.
• Subject to inside environmental conditions.
• Travel for this position will include less than 5% locally usually for training purposes.
