We are seeking an experienced and strategic Senior Software Engineering Manager to help lead and grow our talented engineering team. This role will be responsible for the overall technical direction, execution, and delivery of our Platform team. This role is a unique blend of people management, technical leadership, and strategic product vision. The role will mentor engineers, refine our development processes, and co-develop the technical roadmap alongside our Product team and other engineering leaders. The Platform team is primarily based in the United States.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Team Leadership & Growth: Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing team of software engineers. Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement. Manage hiring, onboarding, and professional development for the engineering department.
- Project & Product Management: Oversee the entire software development lifecycle using agile methodologies. Collaborate with product managers, designers, and stakeholders to build and execute a long-term product roadmap. Ensure timely and high-quality delivery of features and projects.
- Technical Strategy: Drive the technical vision for our platform, making key architectural decisions. Guide the team in designing and implementing solutions that leverage modern technologies.
- Hands-On Contribution: While primarily a leadership role, you should be comfortable diving into code, participating in technical discussions, and providing guidance on complex challenges related to our core technologies.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- Leadership Experience: 10+ years of experience in software engineering, and 4+ years managing direct reports, with a proven track record of successfully growing a team.
- Project Management Expertise: understanding of different development management practices such as agile or others. Demonstrated experience building, executing, and delivering on a multi-year product roadmap.
- Database Proficiency: Strong experience with relational and non-relational databases and the SQL language. You should be comfortable with database design and performance tuning.
- Web Development Background: Solid experience in modern web development, with specific hands-on expertise in TypeScript.
- AI Acumen: Experience developing and integrating AI/ML models and technologies into software products. Familiarity with AI concepts, libraries and MLOps is a significant plus.
Work Location:
- This position is remote with about 15% travel. Preference to CAN-Eastern, Atlantic, Central, or Mountain timezones so there is maximum collaboration with East coast, UK, EU, and Israel.
