Working at Atlassian
Atlassians can choose where they work - whether in an office, from home, or a combination of the two. That way, Atlassians have more control over supporting their family, personal goals, and other priorities. We can hire people in any country where we have a legal entity. Interviews and onboarding are conducted virtually, a part of being a distributed-first company.
We are looking to hire a Senior Manager to lead the SEO team, a group of passionate professionals focused on elevating Atlassian's organic search and LLM performance across Atlassian websites. The team collaborates closely with content, growth, and product marketing partners to deliver measurable business results.
You'll join Atlassian's Performance Marketing organization, a team dedicated to driving growth and business impact through data-driven marketing strategies across the Atlassian portfolio.
In this role, you will:
  • Lead the development and execution of comprehensive B2B SEO and GEO strategies aligned with awareness and acquisition goals.
  • Mentor and guide the SEO team to drive business impact, setting priorities, providing direction, and ensuring effective execution across technical and content initiatives.
  • Help team members grow their craft skills, including business acumen, partnership, and channel mastery.
  • Drive process innovation in areas such as AI-assisted keyword research, competitive analysis, and on-page optimization tailored for B2B buyers.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with product marketing, content, and growth product and engineering teams to implement SEO recommendations.
  • Oversee technical SEO initiatives that improve site hygiene and accessibility.
  • Own and present analytics and performance data to ensure leadership has clear insights.
  • Stay current on B2B search and LLM trends and algorithm updates, adapting strategies as needed to maintain visibility and authority.
  • Evangelize SEO thought leadership across the organization to foster alignment between SEO and other digital channels.
  • Monitor emerging technologies such as AI-powered search (e.g., Google SGE, ChatGPT, Anthropic) and to ensure awareness of Atlassian brands as search discovery changes.
  • Participate in the procurement and contracting process with outside vendors, providers, and suppliers.

Your background:
  • 8+ years of hands-on SEO experience
  • Proven ability to scale organic search as a performance channel through a combination of content, technical SEO, and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills; ability to translate complex SEO insights into business language.
  • Strong analytical and reporting skills using tools like Google Analytics, Looker Studio, or Tableau.
  • Deep proficiency with SEO platforms and tools: Google Search Console, Brightedge, Semrush, Screaming Frog, and other organic visibility tools.
  • Experience with technical SEO implementation, including core areas like indexation, crawl optimization, page speed, and structured data.
  • Experience leading distributed or remote teams.
  • Highly self-motivated, curious, and detail-oriented with a passion for driving results.

Preferred Qualifications
  • 10+ years of SEO experience in an enterprise B2B SaaS environment.
  • Experience in managing large-scale enterprise SEO strategies for multi-product or international B2B brands.
  • Exposure to AI-driven SEO workflows, such as content ideation, optimization, and large-scale testing and experimentation.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
