Also a Senior Manager, Performance Marketing who thrives in a high-growth, data-rich environment and wants ownership over a multi-million-dollar paid media portfolio. If you want to shape the future of fintech growth marketing and build something meaningful at speed, this is the role.

The Senior Manager, Performance Marketing will own Sezzle’s paid media strategy and execution across the full funnel, leading seven-figure budgets and driving measurable growth across several metrics including revenue, subscription, app usage and engagement. This highly visible role combines analytical rigor with creative testing excellence and requires someone who can both architect strategy and execute with precision.

You’ll reside within the Marketing team collaborating closely with the Product, Creative, Data, and Leadership teams to scale our performance marketing, uncover new growth levers, and meaningfully influence the company’s trajectory.

What You'll Do:

  • Performance Strategy & Leadership
    • Build and lead Sezzle’s cross-channel performance marketing strategy across paid search, paid social, programmatic, affiliates, and CTV.
    • Set KPI frameworks for the full funnel (video completions, app downloads, subscriptions, purchase conversions, retention, ARPU).
    • Own forecasting, pacing, and delivering on KPIs with a mindset toward efficiency.
    • Identify new performance channels and emerging platforms, and build test-and-learn frameworks.
  • Execution & Optimization
    • Manage seven-figure+ budgets to drive optimal CAC, ROAS, and ARPU.
    • Lead Programmatic, Affiliate, SEO, and external agency teams to deliver strong ROI.
    • Build media roadmaps and campaign architectures based on market intelligence, competitive insights, and consumer behavior.
    • Oversee creative testing frameworks analyzing performance of creatives, offers, and audiences; provide data-backed recommendations to the Creative team.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration
    • Partner with Product, Revenue, and Leadership to align on business goals and prioritize marketing investments.
    • Report performance trends, insights, and opportunities to colleagues on a regular cadence with weekly check-ins.
    • Provide funnel/flywheel insights to help optimize conversion across paid, owned, and earned channels.
  • Analytics & Growth Insights:
    • Own post-campaign analysis, channel attribution, and incrementality testing.
    • Bring deep analytical rigor to the budgeting process, projections and recommendations for re-forecasting.
    • Use analytics tools to translate complex bidding, attribution, and performance dynamics into clear storytelling for both technical and non-technical audiences.

What We Look For:

  • 5+ years hands-on experience in performance marketing managing seven-figure budgets across paid social, affiliates, and programmatic channels.
  • Deep understanding of performance KPIs: ARPU, CAC, CPA, ROAS, LTV, retention funnels, incrementality, blended CAC, etc.
  • Strong SEO knowledge and the ability to manage SEO as a performance lever.
  • Strong communicator with experience influencing senior leadership and driving cross-functional alignment.
  • High bias for action, entrepreneurial spirit, thrives in ambiguity and loves building over maintaining.
  • Proven success scaling app downloads/engagement and e-commerce/retail performance campaigns.
  • Advanced experience in Meta Ads Manager, Google Ads, Google Analytics, and mobile measurement platforms (AppsFlyer or equivalent).

About You:

  • You have relentlessly high standards - many people may think your standards are unreasonably high. You are continually raising the bar and driving those around you to deliver great results. You make sure that defects do not get sent down the line and that problems are fixed so they stay fixed.
  • You’re not bound by convention - your success—and much of the fun—lies in developing new ways to do things
  • You need action - speed matters in business. Many decisions and actions are reversible and do not need extensive study. We value calculated risk-taking.
  • You earn trust - you listen attentively, speak candidly, and treat others respectfully.
  • You have backbone; disagree, then commit - you can respectfully challenge decisions when you disagree, even when doing so is uncomfortable or exhausting. You have conviction and are tenacious. You do not compromise for the sake of social cohesion. Once a decision is determined, you commit wholly.
  • You deliver results - you focus on the key inputs and deliver them with the right quality and in a timely fashion. Despite setbacks, you rise to the occasion and never settle.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
