The Opioid Epidemic is a public health crisis with a highly effective but underutilized clinical intervention - millions of Americans are physically dependent on Opioids but only 10% of those likely to have OUD actually access treatment. Bicycle Health addresses this gap by maximizing accessibility, affordability, and overall quality of care by enabling highly qualified clinicians to reach patients broadly and efficiently through our online platform.

The People Operations team is dedicated to creating a first-class employee experience that empowers and supports our employees in their roles at Bicycle Health. As the People Operations leader, you will have the opportunity to lead a wide range of People initiatives and programs that drive our employee experience and culture.

The Senior Manager, People Operations is a strategic and hands-on role where you can develop new programs, policies, and approaches and build upon our People Operations infrastructure. This role reports directly to and works closely with the VP of People to ensure we deliver for our employees and business.

Target Pay Range: $139,400 - $160,650 - Compensation to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.

You can expect to:

  • Lead the operational aspects of the employee lifecycle, including on- and offboarding and performance management. . Provide expertise, guidance, and mentorship across the People team. This role manages the Senior Recruiter.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain HR strategies, programs, policies, and practices that align with Bicycle Health's goals in partnership with the VP of People.
  • Collaborate with Talent Acquisition to drive recruitment strategies that attract and retain top talent.
  • Ensure accurate data management, reporting and compliance with HR policies and regulations; Manage employee records and ensure data integrity across HR platforms.
  • Oversee annual performance management cycles to ensure they align with Bicycle Health’s goals of providing a consistent, objective, and meaningful evaluation of employee performance and career development.
  • Maintain and develop operational processes to support talent management initiatives and programs.
  • Oversee the operational aspects of the employee lifecycle, including onboarding, performance management, rewards, development, and offboarding.
  • Partner with VP, People and third-party vendors to design, implement, and manage employee benefits programs, ensuring effective delivery and alignment with Bicycle Health’s goals and employee needs.
  • Responsible for annual benefits renewal and coordinating open enrollment, including responsibilities of communications to employees
  • Develop, update, and maintain our leave of absence programs, including guiding employees and managers and partnering with our external leave of absence vendor.
  • Responsible for responding to and processing of ADA accommodation requests.
  • Lead our bi-annual employee engagement survey process to gather employee feedback and measure employee engagement to ensure continuous improvement of the employee experience.
  • Become a trusted and respected expert and consultant to leaders and employees on people team programs, policies, and practices.
  • Develop people operations programs that foster a culture that aligns with Bicycle Health’s values and support our efforts to create an inclusive and equitable workplace.
  • Foster a culture of continuous feedback, recognition, and professional development.
  • Responsible for compliance with employment laws and regulations across multiple states.
  • Develop and implement policies, practices, and procedures, including maintaining and updating the Employee Handbook and other people policies.
  • Collaborate with  cross-functional partners to comply with audits and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and regularly report on key HR metrics to assess organizational effectiveness and employee experience, identify opportunities, and make data-driven decisions.

Qualities we are looking for:

  • 7+ years of progressive HR leadership experience in a healthcare environment in California with at least 2 years in a leadership role required and 3 years experience managing core HR functions (benefits, LOA, compliance)
  • SHRM or HRCI certification (Required)
  • Experience designing and implementing scalable HR operations programs and processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong partnerships and influence across functions and levels of an organization.
  • Strong knowledge of HR best practices, industry trends, and legal requirements.
  • Proven project management and organizational skills and ability to juggle multiple priorities.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, ability to understand an issue, investigate solutions, and develop recommendations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong working knowledge of HR tools and systems, including Rippling, Workday, Greenhouse, Contnu, Checkr, and Google suite.

This is a full-time (40hrs per week) remote position.

We’ve grown our clinical staff of medical providers caring for patients, across 32 states, and we employ a large ancillary staff for support with technologic and administrative needs, clinical and behavioral support, and care coordination.
