The role:
This role is responsible for driving expense efficiency initiatives by leveraging a thorough understanding of business economics and providing strong leadership to influence business decision makers. This individual has a strong working knowledge of operations to ensure the successful execution of operational value-capture initiatives from inception to completion, utilizing comprehensive cost-benefit analysis and rigorous performance tracking to promote transparency and accountability. Additionally, this role promotes a culture of financial awareness through robust P&L training programs.
Key Responsibilities- Lead & Mentor an Analytics Team: Recruit, manage, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of business analysts, fostering a culture of continuous learning, data integrity, and analytical excellence.
- Strategic Analytical Oversight: Define and execute the operational analytics roadmap, identifying key performance indicators (KPIs), metrics, and reporting standards to monitor and measure business health and efficiency.
- Data-Driven Process Optimization: Conduct deep-dive analyses into complex operational workflows, identifying bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and areas for automation or re-engineering to improve productivity and quality.
- Performance Reporting & Insights: Develop and maintain comprehensive dashboards, reports, and presentations for senior leadership, providing clear, concise, and actionable insights on operational trends, performance drivers, and strategic recommendations.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with Operations leaders, Finance, Product, and Technology teams to understand business challenges, align on analytical priorities, and implement data-driven solutions.
- Forecasting & Modeling: Build and validate predictive models to forecast operational demand, resource needs, and potential impacts of proposed changes, enabling proactive decision-making.
- Tool & Technology Leverage: Evaluate, recommend, and implement analytical tools, platforms, and methodologies to enhance the team's capabilities and efficiency.
- Change Management: Champion change initiatives resulting from analytical findings, working with stakeholders to ensure successful adoption and sustained improvement.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Engineering, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field. A Master's degree is a significant plus.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 8-10 years of progressive experience in business intelligence, data analytics, operations management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2-5 years of experience in a leadership or management role, with direct reports, preferably in an analytics or operations-focused team.
- Proven track record of driving significant operational improvements through data analysis and process re-engineering.
- Technical Skills:
- Expert proficiency in SQL for complex data extraction and manipulation.
- Advanced skills in data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Looker) for dashboard development and executive reporting.
- Strong analytical modeling capabilities, including proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, advanced formulas, VBA is a plus).
- Familiarity with statistical analysis tools (e.g., R, Python with Pandas/NumPy) for advanced analytics is highly desirable.
- Analytical Acumen: Demonstrated ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex analytical findings to both technical and non-technical audiences, including senior leadership.
- Problem-Solving: Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities, capable of dissecting complex issues and proposing innovative, data-backed solutions.
- Experience with Lean Six Sigma, Agile methodologies, or other continuous improvement frameworks.
- Previous experience in a fast-paced, high-growth environment, ideally within [mention specific industry if relevant, e.g., e-commerce, tech, logistics].
- Experience with data warehousing concepts and ETL processes.
- Project management certification (e.g., PMP) or experience managing complex analytical projects.
