Job Summary
The Senior Manager, Operational Effectiveness (OE) plays a critical leadership role in optimizing LifeStance Health’s clinical operations to enable sustainable SG&A (Selling, General, and administrative expenses) reduction across the enterprise. This role will lead high-impact initiatives that simplify workflows, eliminate waste, and strengthen performance through data-driven analysis, Lean Six Sigma methodologies, and scalable operating models. The Senior Manager will partner closely with Finance, RCM, Intake, Credentialing, HR, and Technology teams to identify and execute on opportunities that reduce administrative overhead, improve cost per encounter, and create a unified, efficient infrastructure that supports LifeStance’s growth and mission to deliver accessible, high-quality behavioral healthcare. This position is a remote role with the ability to sit within any US locality.
Compensation 109,000- 158,000 Annually with potential bonus
Responsibilities
Lead cross-functional OE initiatives focused on reducing SG&A by driving standardization, automation, and operating leverage across departments.
Translate executive priorities into actionable projects with measurable cost-savings, ROI, and efficiency metrics.
Build and maintain an enterprise-wide Operational Excellence dashboard to track SG&A improvements and process KPIs.
Apply Lean Six Sigma and DMAIC frameworks to identify root causes, streamline processes, and eliminate redundancies.
Work with Process Engineers to redesign end-to-end workflows to improve scalability, handoffs, and automation (e.g., benefit verification, intake-to-claim lifecycle, credentialing cycles).
Partner with digital, data, and automation teams to embed AI and analytics into operational processes to reduce manual effort.
Develop and implement governance frameworks for prioritizing OE initiatives based on impact, feasibility, and alignment to enterprise goals.
Create clear charters, baselines, and target outcomes for each initiative.
Drive adoption through change management, communication, and alignment with front-line leaders and executives.
Mentor and guide Process Engineers and analysts to build internal OE capability.
Collaborate with Finance and functional leaders to translate cost savings into measurable SG&A improvement metrics.
Serve as a strategic advisor to leadership on operational efficiency opportunities and risk mitigation.
Skills & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations, Industrial Engineering, or related field preferred (MBA preferred).
Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification required.
7+ years of experience in operational excellence, process improvement, or shared services transformation — ideally in healthcare or high-growth service environments.
Proven track record of driving measurable cost reduction, SG&A improvement, or productivity gains across complex organizations.
Strong analytical skills with ability to synthesize financial, operational, and workforce data to drive decisions.
Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills.
Experience leading cross-functional initiatives involving Finance, RCM, HR, and Technology.
Familiarity with automation, AI-enablement, and data-driven performance optimization preferred.
Success Measures
SG&A % of revenue reduced through operational improvements.
Process cycle times and error rates reduced across enterprise.
Increased automation and self-service adoption.
Improved team productivity and utilization across functions.
Positive executive and stakeholder feedback on OE partnership and outcomes.
