Job Summary:

We are looking for a dynamic and strategic Technology Operations Leader to drive the effective delivery and lifecycle management of global and local technology solutions within our Manufacturing and Engineering landscape. This role plays a pivotal part in ensuring systems are operated efficiently, remain compliant with regulatory standards, and consistently deliver high-quality services aligned with business needs.

Partnering closely with product teams and cross-functional technology functions, you will shape and execute the operations strategy, acting as the global service lead across a diverse portfolio of solutions. As part of the Supply Chain, Manufacturing & Quality team, you will be instrumental in advancing our Digital Manufacturing Strategy and enabling transformative outcomes across the organization

Major accountabilities: 

  • Collaborate with Directors and Associate Directors within the function to proactively shape the portfolio and technology roadmap (3-5y horizon), especially taking care of system live cycle requirements
  • Ensure SLAs are met for all Technology Services, collect customer feedback, and identify optimization areas; identify and manage risks related to Technology Services.
  • Execute and implement good operational governance models with all relevant stakeholders in collaboration with the product delivery projects
  • Implement and lead external operations teams and contribute to the contract definition and selection process of external operations service providers
  • Ensure investments are leveraged by following the governance model leveraging existing solutions
  • Accountable for Technology operations across SMQS including manufacturing sites with the help of external service providers
  • Initiate product update, replacement, and retirement projects based on product lifecycle schedules determined during product operations
  • Effective at critical incident management, drive process improvements towards increased production efficiencies
  • Integrate services horizontally across organizational units, and manage operations of interfaces between systems and products by collaborating with other Technology functions
  • System operations budget accountability to the business. Help business to understand their choices to manage technology costs
  • Close partnership with Suppliers/Vendors, managing KPIs, identifying and continuously working on improvement areas for Operations stability
  • Fully accountable for determining the operational objectives and medium-term planning according to the long-term plans established by the Technology Strategy
  • Contributes to and interprets business and Technology strategy to shape strategy and future direction for the Sandoz Operations
  • Develop knowledge above silos across business functions and ensure business accountabilities are executed
  • Provide input on demand requirements for the creation and maintenance of overall Technology strategy

Minimum Requirements: 

  • 8 years’ experience working in an IT environment
  • 5 years’ experience working on Manufacturing and Automation Solutions and integration with other systems
  • 3 years’ experience in managing teams and external vendors
  • Excellent experience and proven track record in organizing and running IT operations for applications in the IT/OT domain
  • Excellent experience in working on leading internal and external operations teams and manage external vendors
  • Understanding of pharmaceutical industry. Preferred business process know-how in the domain of manufacturing and automation systems, production IT/OT system integration, shopfloor process controls
  • Solid understanding of GxP, ITIL and CSV regulations
  • Knowledge of Koerber MES (manufacturing execution system), Aveva Historian, CMX Calibration, Track & trace systems.
